Peaches to Beaches
set for weekend
Georgia's longesi yard sale,
the Peaches to the Beaches
Yard Sale, will take place Friday
and Saturday along US Highway
341, the Golden Isles Parkway.
The 221-mile yard sale will link
peach-growing counties in mid
dle Georgia to the beaches of
Brunswick and the Golden Isles,
with stops in 19 communities
along the way.
In Perry, yard sale sites will be
located in the historic downtown
district. Maps of participating ven
dors will be available at the New
Perry Hotel beginning at 8 a.m.
Friday.
Participating Perry merchants
having special sales this week
end include Impressions, Two
Friends, Sugar Plum Tree, Goin'
Postal, Advanced Eyecare, and
Jones Jewelers. In addition to
the downtown merchants, and
the official group site at the New
Perry Hotel, other group sites in
town will include: St. Christopher's
Episcopal Church, Crossroads
Methodist Church, Carrie Lynn's
Antiques, River's Edge Worship
Center, Civitan Club, and Houston
Springs. Official yard sale hours
will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Other participating communi
ties include Culloden, Roberta,
Fort Valley, Perry, Hawkinsville,
Eastman, Helena, Mcßae, Lumber
City, Hazlehurst, Graham, Baxley,
Surrency, Odum, Screven, Jesup,
Brunswick, St. Simons Island and
Jekyll Island.

Perry police, tire shut down club
Underage drinking, marijuana, crack pipe just part of the discovery

A Saturday morning raid closed
down N-Styles Bar for numerous
criminal and code violations.
Perry Police Capt. Bill Phelps
said police had responded on 15
separate incidents to the club at
304 Kellwood Drive. The com
plaints were for noise, patrons
refusing to leave, traffic acci
dents, fights, drug charges and
other incidents including being
open on Sunday, Christmas Eve,
while drinking and dancing,
Phelps said.

to have the asphalt added and smoothed to be complete. Still left to do in that area, he added, was finishing the

Police hunt two absconders

The Houston County
Sheriffs Office is looking
for two absconders.
The two men, Luis
Ramos and Brian Edward
Dearmore, are listed as
absconders on the Georgia
Bureau of Investigations
Sex Offender Registry.
Both are wanted for reg
istration of sex offender
for not reporting their
whereabouts to the sher
iffs office, as required as a
term of their probation.
Ramos was convicted of
child molestation on Jan.
30, 2003.
His last known address in
Perry was verified Friday
according to the GBI and

offense. His last known
address is 230 Henson
Road, Hawkinsville, in
south Houston County,
and was verified according
to the GBI Jan. 30. The
warrant was taken last
Thursday. He is 28, 5-foot
said. The three owners, Dewayne
Pinckney, Scott McGarrett and
Anquarisus Walker, were cited
for that. The two men accused of
robbing a family at the Passport
Inn last month had come out of
the club, Phelps added. “People
are coming up here to commit
crime,” said Perry Public Safety
Director George Potter.
All of these previous incidents
prompted the raid Saturday at
1 a.m., Potter and Phelps said.

Police: Argument
led to shooting

According to Warner Robins Police
Department officials, a two-day argument
led to one brother shooting the other and
then turning the gun on himself Saturday.
According to the police report, Warner
Robins Police responded to a shooting on
that day to find the two brothers dead, each
from a single gunshot to the head.
The two, Robert and Timothy Pace,
reportedly began arguing the night before
- Friday.
The arguing continued Saturday when,
at approximately 1:01 p.m., officers

Warner Robins approved
three annexations and rezon
ings Monday night during
its council meeting.
One of the three is the
commercial component of
a large development that
- once built out - may make
Warner Robins the larg
est city in Peach County,
according to Mayor Donald
Walker. The 59.468-acre
tract on the south side of
Ga. 247 Connector, across
from the apartment complex
was rezoned from residen
tial agricultural to general
commercial.
It is adjacent to 703 acres
annexed last year, Walker
said, which will have 1,100
