Fire department to
inspect hydrants
The Warner Robins Fire
Department would like to inform
citizens it will be doing its annual
inspection on fire hydrants over
the next few weeks.
According to a release, before
doing laundry, citizens should
check their water and if it's dis
colored, either wait and let the
lines settle or run through a cycle
without adding laundry.
If there are any questions, con
tact the fire department at 765-
1020.
U.S. Rep. Marshall to
speak in WR
Congressman Jim Marshall will
speak at the Saturday meeting of
the Middle Georgia Democratic
Women's Club at Chef Audrey's
Bistro on Margie Drive in Warner
Robins.
The meeting begins at 9 a m.

Correction
In the March 8 story “County:
Yes to 1 home occupation, no to
another," the name of the church
is River Light. The name of the
transportation service is True
Light. Brunetta Childs, operator of
the non-profit transportation ser
vice attends River Light Church.
The church, she said supports
the transportation service. While
not brought up at the meeting,
Child's said she still has an office
on Watson Boulevard, across
from the Houston Medical Center,
which she operates the business.

Authority, citizens wage war of words

14 to be inducted into inaugural Hall of Fame

The inaugural Houston County
Teacher Hall of Fame induction will be
held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the audi
torium of the Eric R Staples Building.
The ceremony will be followed by
a reception. The public is invited,
according to a release, to be a “part of
this community celebration to honor
14 extraordinary teachers who made
a significant difference in the lives of
their students.”
A committee of former Houston
County educators and school sys
tem graduates was appointed by
Superintendent Danny Carpenter to
select the first honorees to be inducted
into the Hall of Fame.

Perry police paise money fop Special Olympics

Saturday was the biggest car show yet
for the Perry Police Department.
“We had 65 plus cars,” said Perry Police
Officer Keith Kindle. “We would have had
more except for the rain north of us.”
The record showing, Kindle said, raised
$2,200 for the Special Olympics. Kindle is
the Law Enforcement Torch Run Route

The Westfield" Schools
Literary Team won the top
award at the GISA Region
3-AAA
Region competition held
at Darton College last
Thursday.
Westfield was named
spring Region Champion
and also won the Overall

His Lifetime Development
has done redevelopments
with the Macon and Atlanta
housing authorities.
He previously presented
a plan to tear down one of
the Warner Robins housing
projects and replace it with
