Gunn Road to be
closed temporarily
Wednesday and Thursday,
construction crews will be install
ing a water mam adjacent to Gunn
Road.
To complete the project, the
westbound lane of Gunn road will
be closed between Madison Place
and the rear entrance to First
Assembly Church of God.
Traffic will be reduced to one
lane due to construction equip
ment in the roadway, explained

Robins Police Department
Work is scheduled to begin at 9
a.m. and continue the rest of the
day. Persons who do not live on
Gunn road are asked to find an
alternate route if at all possible.
Flagmen will be positioned at
each end of the work site to assist
with the traffic flow.

Metro WR jobless rate down

Warner Robins’ unem
ployment rate dropped to
3.7 percent in February.
It is down three-lOths of
one percent from 4 percent
in January. It also remains
below the metro Macon,
state and national aver
ages.
Metro Macon’s unem
ployment rate decreased
to 5 percent in February,
down four-lOths of one per
cent from 5.4 percent in
January. The state’s unem
ployment rate decreased
to 4.4 percent in February,
down three-tenths of one
percent from 4.7 percent
in January. The state’s
February rate was one-half
of one percent lower than
the U.S. unadjusted rate of
4.9 percent. Warner Robins’
rate was 1.2 percent lower
than the national rate.

Robins man is being held
without bond in the Houston
County Jail
for having
sex with a
child under
the age of
16.

March 26, and is being held
without bond for the Feb. 12
incident. He is charged with
statutory rape and enticing a
child for indecent purposes.
The charges are from a
special presentment from
the Houston County Grand
Jury. Starley was indicted
Feb. 22 by the Grand Jury
on those charges as well as
child molestation.
