RAFB Gate 5 to be
closed until June 24
According to a release from
Robins Air Force Base, Gate 5,
which is located at the intersec
tion of Martin Luther King Road
and Ga. Highway 247, is sched
uled to be closed from now until
June 24 to complete its construc
tion project.
Alternate gates available to
base drivers while the gate is
closed will be:
GATE 1 The Green Street
gate is open Monday through
Friday from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m.
GATE 3 The main gate at
Watson Boulevard is open 24
hours a day, seven days a week.
GATE 14 The Russell
Parkway gate is open seven days
a week from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
A|l drivers are asked to be
patient and expect longer wait
times at the gate.
Also, according to the release,
when the gate reopens, the traffic
patterns for those arriving to the
base through the gate will differ.
The entry path will be similar to
Gates 1 and 3 where vehicles will
enter the gate and make a turn to
the south before arriving to the
canopy for ID checks.
The new design will also add a
third inbound lane and is expect
ed to reduce the need to use the
shoulder when waiting to enter
the gate from Ga. Highway 247.

Greenwood Drive started in
the kitchen.
According to Perry

called about 5:50 p.m.
Friday to the house fire at
1027 Greenwood Drive in
Perry.

investigating the shooting
of a man Friday night on
Camellia Circle.
Officers of fjie Warner

responded to the Houston
Medical Center, about 10:30
p.m. Friday to investigate
the report of an aggravated
assault.
The victim, a 24-year-old
male from Warner Robins
told police he was shot once
in the leg while he walked
in the 600 block of Camellia
Circle by an unknown per
son who was driving dark

victim discovered him on
Camellia Circle after the
shooting and took him to
the Houston Medical Center
for treatment. Police were
then notified.
Police are seeking a dark
colored four-door vehicle in
connection with the inci
dent.

The suspect eventually
forced the victim from the
car in the 200 block Martin
Luther King Jr. Boulevard
and stole the vehicle from

She solicited aid from a
business in the area and
notified police. The victim
suffered a minor injury
