The next Vision 2020 meeting
will be held July 25 at 10 a.m. at
Perry City Hall - a change in venue,
according to a release.
Per the release, the group will
continue the discussion of adverse
weather sirens with an update from
Chief Jimmy Williams on a possible
solution, as well as discussing pan
demic flu preparation plans county
wide.

The Board of Directors’ monthly
meeting for the Houston County
Association for Exceptional Citizens,

The Georgia Bureau of
Investigation is still actively
investigating the shooting
death of former Westfield
graduate Doris Annette
Spillers Worrell.
In a press release Thursday,
the GBI said it is actively
following leads almost daily
and is attempting to piece
together exactly what hap
pened to Worrell, who died
from a single gunshot wound
on Sept. 20, 2006.
Worrell was found dead
inside Jon’s Sports Park
by her husband Jon that
morning at approximately

Hodac’s volunteer victim
advocates are, according to
a release, “the cornerstone
of its victim services pro
gram. Volunteers respond to
crisis/emergency calls from
crime victims, law enforce
ment, and/or hospital staff
personnel in order to advo
cate for victims of domestic
violence, sexual assault, and
other crimes.”

tion between the victim and
the services they might need

help empower crime victims
through a broad range of

supportive environment to

successfully navigating the
legal process to formulating
preventative safety proce
dures.

Sex offender back in jail

Marcus Alonzo Addison is back in jail, again.
Addision, 23, of 204 Waverly Lane, in
Byron, was arrested Tuesday for viola
tion of probation from Superior Court.
He is on probation for a statutory rape
conviction in February.
He pleaded guilty Feb. 15 for the July
4, 2006, incident and was sentenced to
10 years probation and required to reg
ister as a sex offender.
