Perry set for ‘Grind,’
champions night
The Perry High School will hold
its annual weight competitions this
week. 'The Grind” is an all day
obstacle course the team's players
go through. It is Thursday, slated to
begin at 9 a.m. and last until 4:30-5
p.m. Players, according to a release,
will compete based on times for
each group of players.
“The Night of Champions” is
Friday and will start at 6 p.m. in the
stadium. The public is invited.
CGSA begins fall
soccer registration
The Central Georgia Soccer
Association is currently signing up
children ages 4-19 for its fall ses
sion. Online registration is under
way and closes July 31. The web

cheer signups start
The Warner Robins Recreation
Department has begun registration
for the 2007 football and cheer
leading programs. Registration will
continue at the organization’s office
off Watson Blvd., until leagues are
filled. The programs are open to
boys and girls ages 5-12. The age
control date is Aug. 31, 2007. A
birth certificate is required upon
registration unless it is currently
on file. Participants must also have
the required fee at the time of
registration. Registration fees are
as follows: SSO for city residents,
$lO3 for county residents and
$177 for out of county residents.

Robins Air Force Base Youth
Center fall sports registration has
begun. Youth may register for
cheerleading ages 5-12; NFL flag
football ages 5-10, tackle football
ages 11-12 and fall soccer ages
5-16. The center will also offer for
the first time Start Smart soccer
an eight-week soccer fundamen
tal development program for ages
3-4.
Registration will continue until
teams are full. Call the center at

Soccer referee
course to be offered
An entry level soccer referee
course will be offered at Northside
high school Aug. 17 and 18. The
Friday class will be from 6-9 p.m.
and the Saturday class will be from
9 a.m.-4 p.m. The cost is $55.

WR Rec preps for
softball season
The Warner Robins Recreation
Department will hold team regis
tration for the 2007 Fall Softball
League Aug. 6-7. Teams may regis
ter between the 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the
department, which is located at 800
Watson Blvd.
Per a release, they will register
the first 28 coed teams and the first
21 men’s teams only. League play
will be Monday through Thursday
for a 12-game season. The entry fee
is $348 per team. The fall season
will open Sept. 4. They will play all
games at Peavy Park. Participants
must be 16 by Sept. 1.

Cheer Booster Club to
host golf tourney
The Warner Robins High School
Cheer Booster Club will host its Fifth
Annual Golf Scramble Aug. 4.
The event is slated to begin with
a shotgun start at 2 p.m. The cost
is SSO per person, which includes
lunch, green fee, cart, door prize,
raffles and course refreshments.

Kids group to sponsor
charity game
Kids R Us Inc., in Macon is spon
soring a charity basketball game
between the Southwest Patriots and
Baldwin County Braves Aug. 25 at
7 p.m. at the Macon Coliseum. The
event, according to a release, will be
used as a fund-raiser for 2-year-old
Aj’ah Gary, who is currently battling
the cancer (neuroblastoma). Call
