Ga. sheriff accused of using stress tests to find leaks

determine who has been
talking to the FBI, Georgia
Bureau of Investigation and
news media about his office,
a Camden County commis
sioner said.
Commissioner Steve Berry
made the claim at a meeting
Tuesday in which commis
sioners voted 3-1 to slash
the budget for the Camden
County Sheriff’s Office by
$1.3 million.
Berry used the voice
stress tests as an example
of how Smith is unnecessar
ily spending taxpayer dollars
for purposes that have noth
ing to do with public safety.

OBITUARIES
JAMES PERRY GILL
BONAIRE - James P Gill, 84, passed away Thursday after
an extended illness. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, children, two granddaughters
and nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with
interment following in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
TOM H. UNDERWOOD. SR. __
FORT VALLEY - Tom H. Underwood, Sr., 89, passed
away Thursday. His wife preceded him in death. Survivors
include two children and their family members, three grand
children and three great grandchildren, Quentin, Jennifer,
Abigail, and Stephany. Graveside services will be held at
a.m. Saturday in Magnolia Park Cemetery.
KF.T.T.Y POWERS BODREY
UNADILLA - Kelly Powers Bodrey, 36, passed
away on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at Medical Center
of Central Georgia in Macon. Funeral services will
be held on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 3 p.m. at First
Baptist Church in Perry with interment to follow. Visi
tation will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2007, from 6-8
p.m. at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home in Perry. Watson-
Hunt Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bodrey was the daughter of Fred and Kathy Powers of
Marshallville. Having lived in Marshallville most of her life,
Mrs. Bodrey was a member of The Westfield Schools Class of
1989, and graduated from Georgia Southwestern College in
1994. Growing up and loving horses all of her life, she was
an awesome barrel racer and won many awards, including a
Reserve Champion for a 4-H Regional of 13 states. She was
a member of 4-H as a young child and later the Perry Saddle
Club and the Heart of Georgia Horse Association. She was
a Probation Officer for the State of Georgia for 12 years.
Survivors also include her husband, Bill Bodrey, and son, Cody
Bodrey, both of Unadilla; brother, Matt Powers (Donna) of
Marshallville; sisters-in-law, Sheila Wilkes of Elko and Valerie
Bodrey of Nashville, TN; niece and nephews, Scarlett and
Phillip Wilkes and Ryan and Matthew Powers; grandmoth
ers, Mildred Prickett of Marshallville, and Betty Ruth Powers
of Beckley, West Virginia; and father- and mother-in-law,
William and Pat Bodrey of Unadilla. She was preceded in death
by her grandfathers, Lyman Prickett, Sr. and Robert Powers.
The family suggests donations to a college fund for her son,
Cody, to Edward Jones, 913 Main St., Perry, GA 31069.

DOG & CAT TAGS
In accordance with Article II of Perry City Code, notice is hereby given
that all cats and dogs within the City of Perry must be registered in the
office of the Tax Clerk no later than July 31, 2007. Before registration tag
is issued, the owner or custodian must furnish the Tax Clerk with a current
innoculation certificate from a licensed veterinarian. The cost of each tag is
$7.00 and each tag must be properly secured to a collar and worn around
the neck of the dog or cat at all times. Puppies and kittens must be registered
at 12 weeks of age. Dog and cat owners or custodians who shall violate the
provision of Article II of Perry City Code shall be guilty of an offence against
the City of Perry and upon conviction thereof in the Municipal Court of the
City of Perry shall be fined accordingly. Remember, dog and cat tags are valid
