Flint Energies launches Coop Connections card
From staff reports
Flint Energies launched
a program this week that,
according to a release, offers
further proof that being a
member of the electric coop
erative has its advantages.
According to Flint Senior
Vice President Jimmy Autry,
“the Co-op Connections
program, a new card-based
member benefit program for
Touchstone Energy coopera
tives, is designed to deliver
added value to our mem
bers.”
Flint is implementing this
program in conjunction with
the other Touchstone Energy
co-ops serving 17 million
member-owners nationwide.
The program, a free offer
ing for Flint members and
participating businesses,
offers, according to Autry,
valuable discounts at more
than 140 participating local
and national businesses.
At the same time, those
businesses benefit from
increased customer visits by
co-op members participating
in the program.
“One of the best member
benefits in the card may be
the 10- to 60-percent savings
on most prescriptions at over
48,000 independent phar
macies and national chains
including CVS, Walgreens,
Wal-Mart, Target and more,”
said Autry. “With soaring
prescription prices, this dis
count pharmacy program
can help our members save
money.”

Members will get one

“We want everyone to notice
that the cards will come
in a plastic package with
their August edition of the
Georgia Magazine.”
All new members will get
cards as they sign up for
Flint electric service.
“It’s easy to pick out which
local businesses are partici
pating,” Autry said. “Look
for the Co-op Connections
stickers in their windows.”
The Touchstone Energy

also see a credit on their
august bill of about $5.70.
The Wholesale Power Cost
Adjustment listed on Flint
Energies member bills
will be a larger bill credit
in August, Autry said, of
$0.0038 per kilowatt-hour
“The impact on an aver
age 1,500 kWh user will be a
reduction of approximately
$5.70 on their bill, Autry
said.
The WPCA replaced the
older Fuel Cost Adjustment
beginning on April bills. The
FCA had been an additional
1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour
in March.
With the rate change
of April 1, the WPCA had
moved to SO.OO per kilowatt
hour. More information on
this change is available at
www.flintenergies.com.
The WPCA calculation con
siders actual power costs,
estimated power costs for
the remainder of the year,
projected and actual kWh
sales. Additionally, Flint’s
staff considers the NYMEX
futures pricing on natu
ral gas to come up with
the WPCA each month.
“Flint Energies is a not-for
profit electric cooperative
where all members share
in the costs and benefits of
electric service,” said Autry.
