Contributed The Perry Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Utility Services Company recently. The organization, according to a release, recently added an additional 18,000 square feet to its current location on General Courtney Hodges Blvd. in Perry. Utility Service Company, according to the release, builds, maintains and refurbishes water towers throughout the U.S. During the ribbon cutting, Carl Cumming was joined by elected officials, family, friends, staff, Perry Chamber Board members and ambassadors, Dogwood Queens as well as local businesses leaders. Community Events m SPECIAL MEETING - The Houston County Board of Education has called a special meeting to be held at the Houston County Career & Technology Center today at 12:30 p.m. for the purpose of, according to the release, final approval of the FYOB Millage Rate and any other lawful business that may come before the board. Permits are being sold, according to the release, on a first-come first serve basis in the attendance office. Permit sale hours on Wednesday and Thursday are 8 a.m.-noon.
