According to a release,
each year schools are recog
nized for their percentage of
savings during the month of
August.
Because demand rates for
the school year are set dur
ing that month, the release
reads, schools are encour
aged to conserve.
Flint Energies sponsors
cash incentives to the schools
that rank highest in savings
from the previous August.
They were: Eagle Springs
Elementary, Russell
Elementary, Morningside
Elementary and The
Crossroads Center.

The theme at Morningside Elementary this year is “Fly High with Learning. ” To that
end, fourth grade students launched Writer’s Workshop recently with their writing
goals attached to maroon and gold balloons. Per a school release: “The kids were
excited as they saw their ideas take flight and as they prepared for a new year of
writing.”
