The Houston County
Sheriffs Office will hold its
fifth annual Poker Run to
benefit the Georgia Sheriffs
Youth Homes Saturday.
Registration starts at 11
a.m. at the Georgia National
Fairgrounds in Perry.
The registration fee is sls
per hand and $25 per couple
with extra hands at $lO. The
rain date is the following
Saturday.
Top prizes will be awarded
for the top three hands of
straight poker with S3OO for
first, S2OO for second and
SIOO for third. There will
also be door prizes and food
and drinks will be provided.
T-shirts will also be avail
able.
Last year, 287 riders
from across the state came
to the fairgrounds for ride
and raised $7,600 for the

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Charter of the City of Perry, as amended,
and the Georgia Municipal Election Code as amended through the regular 2007 Session
of the Georgia General Assembly, an election shall be held in the City of Perry for the
election of Councilpersons to Council District 1, Post 2, Council District 2, Post 2 and
Council District 3, Post 2 for a term of four (4) years beginning January 1, 2008. The
election will be held on November 6, 2007.
Qualifying for the election shall be held at the Houston County Board of Elections at
801 Main Street, Room 237, Perry, Georgia, beginning at 8:30 a.m. August 27, 2007
and ending at 4:30 p.m. on August 31, 2007. Qualifying fee shall be $126.00
All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the
election may register to vote through the close of business on October 9, 2007. Polls
