Safety check slated
Special to the Journal
A free car seat safety check
will be held Nov. 3 from
10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Perry
WalMart parking lot.
Certified Child Passenger
Safety technicians with Safe
Kids of Houston County will
be on hand to check car seats
and booster seats for proper
installation. The event is
sponsored by Safe Kids of
Houston County with help
from the Perry Exchange
Club, the Perry Pilot Club,
and WalMart of Perry.
The best way to keep a
child from becoming a sta
tistic is to use an appro
priate car seat or booster
seat for every trip. Properly
used and installed correctly,
a car seat reduces the risk
of death by 71 percent for
rear-facing infants and 54
percent for forward-facing
toddlers. However, four out
of five car seats are used
incorrectly.
For mord information on
the car seat safety check,
call 478-988-1827.
