Jennifer and Kelley Collins
Moreton, Collins
exchange vows
Jennifer J. Moreton and Kelley C. Collins were united in
marriage Sept. 21 at the home of the groom’s father and
stepmother in Tifton.
The bride is the daughter of Dee Lorance of Perry and Ed
Moreton of Mt. Dora, Fla. The groom is the son of Sherwood
and Dee Dee Collins and Ruthie Collins of Tifton.
The outside evening wedding was a traditional double
ring ceremony performed by Jason Millsaps, the minister
of music and associate pastor at Northside Baptist Church,
Tifton, who also sang “I Will be There,” during the cer
emony. .
An aisle was lined with tulle and wedding lights in the
back yard. The bride’s mother, Dee Lorance, was the matron
of honor, and the groom’s son, Sean Collins, was best man.
The bride wore an ivory satin Anna Scott gown with a
chapel length train and a halter-style bodice. She carried a
bouquet of pastel roses. Pinned to the stems of the flowers
was a brooch owned by her late grandmother. The groom
wore a black tuxedo with an ivory striped vest and tie.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by
Sherwood and Dee Dee Collins. The bride and groom danced
their first dance to “The Way You Looked Tonight.”
The couple will live in Tifton where the groom is employed
by Prince Automotive Group and the bride is employed by
the Tift County Board of Education.

Included were a small plas
tic body and over 30 parts
you could use to make a
potato or vegetable person.
Kids all over America were
thrilled with this novelty
that indulged creative imag
inations.
Mr. Potato Head also
holds the distinction of
being the first toy marketed
on the new media of the day:
television. Sales that first
year were over $4 million!
Of course Mr. Potato head
couldn’t live alone so the
next year Mrs. Potato head
joined him along with more
accessories such as cars,
boats and children! Poor
Mrs. 1950 s Potato head!
Her accessories consisted of
washing machines, vacu
ums and dust mops!
Mr. Potato Head has
evolved quite a bit over the
last 50 years. In the 60s some
one decided kids shouldn’t
have pointy face parts and
in 1964 the toy kit ' includ
ed dull ended facial parts
that could now be inserted
into a large plastic potato
with various holes already
drilled throughout. In the
19705, HASBRO acquired
Romper Room and the logo
was included on the box and
some how Mr. Potato head
got darker, doubled in size
and lost his body! Now he
just had stubby shoes at the
bottom of his potato and no
arms or legs! The new jingle
was “I made you, you know
it,s true, Mr. Potato Head, I
made you!”
