Leopard
honored
Perry Police Officer
Matthew Leopard was
honored at a recent City
Council meeting for his
competence and courage
in the single-handed arrest
of suspected bank robber
Bobby Joe Phillips. Leopard
was checking on vehicles
at area motels when he
spotted a truck match
ing the description of the
vehicle used in the robbery.
He took Phillips, who has
been convicted of multiple
felonies and other armed
robberies in the past, into
custody on his own without
incident.

ceremony conducted

Perry City Council recently for his alert detective work
which led to the arrest and sentencing of two men who
attempted armed robbery of a young family at the Relax
Inn in Perry.
