What broken leg? What operation? What cast?
Looking every bit like the record-setting quar
terback he has for the last two seasons, Marques
Ivory, returning - probably for one day only - to his
role from his sophomore season, the backup, threw
for 298 yards and three touchdowns in the second
half Friday. Ivory and the Northside Eagles, on a
23-yard Devon Pike field goal with 12 seconds left

This win, the 29th straight for Northside, put
the Eagles in the Class AAAA state championship
game for the third year in a row. The first one, the
only loss for the Eagles since the end of the 2004
season, ended on a late field goal for victorious
Statesboro High. But Northside came back in 2006
to beat Marist at McConnell-Talbert Stadium for
the school’s first state football title ever.

High School at Memorial Stadium in Waycross. The

Northside’s Georgia Dome miracle was single
