Mossy Creek Middle School will
hold a School Council election
Jan. 8, 2008 at 6 p.m. in the
media center. The election is to
elect four parent/guardian repre
sentatives to serve on the School
Council for the remainder of the
2007-2008 school year.
Two of the elected representa
tives must also be members of
the business community. All par
ents and guardians of students
currently attending Mossy Creek
Middle are encouraged to attend.

SCHEDULE - The Museum of
Aviation will be closed for the
holidays on Christmas and News

evaluations include blood
pressure, weight, blood sugar
(if diabetic) performed by a
registered nurse. Incentive
awards will be given after com
pleting 100 miles, 500 miles,
1,000 miles and up to 2000

for all walking participants and

Diabetes Diet Instruction

es. This class, taught by
Sandra Brenner, RD, Ph.D.,
is for individuals with diabetes
who need a diet review or
people with newly diagnosed
Diabetes Type 2. A physician
diet prescription is required.

Diabetes “In Control”
Course - Call for sched
ule. This course recognized
by the American Diabetes
Association is taught by reg
istered nurses, dietitians, and
certified diabetes educators.
The course consists of a
one-hour initial assessment
and education, a two-hour
nutrition class, and two five
hour comprehensive education
classes. Follow up at three,
six and 12 months after com
pletion of the entire program.
Physician referral is required.

holding a photo contest.
The contest involves taking a
picture of your Houston County
friends book bag in a place far
thest away from the county or is
the most unusual place for a book
bag to find itself. The deadline
