- The Houston County Tax
Assessors office has mailed
out 2008 Personal Property Tax
Returns to all business, boat,
and aircraft owners in the county.

these are due no later than April

■ JUNIOR LIVESTOCK,
RODEO - Plans are cur
rently under way for the 18th
annual Georgia National Junior
Livestock Show slated for Feb.
20-24. The show, according to
a release, features Georgia’s 4-
H and FFA students competing
for statewide championships.
Approximately 2,000 youth will
show in classes for hogs, heifers,
steers, commercial dairy heifers,
and breeding ewes. Admission
to the livestock shows is free to
the public.

Police name suspect in robbery

Department named a sus
pect Wednesday in the armed
robbery of the Lowe’s Home
Improvement Warehouse.
The robbery occurred
Saturday at approximately
10:24 a.m.

reference to a burglary/bat
tery.
According to the release,
a female reported she was
leaving her residence for
work at 7 a.m. when she
encountered a black male in
her carport.
The black male suspect
was able to enter the side
door of the residence where
the female resident contin
ued to defend herself.
The woman was able to
