Esther Carol Marcum Hayes
GAFFNEY, S.C. - Esther Carol Marcum Hayes (Sept. 12, 1957-April 28, 2008), 50, of 138 Fawnhurst Drive,
went home to be with the Lord Monday at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Bom in Lexington, Kentucky, she
was the daughter of James Marcum and Esther Finney Marcum, of Lexington and the wife of Kevin Hayes of the
home. She was employed by Timken Company and was a member of Grassy Pond Baptist Church. She was a
former Chairman of the Houston County Relay for Life and was also active in the local Relay for Life.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is also survived by one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Hayes, of the
home, and one brother, Reid Marcum and wife, Melinda, of Levenworth, Kansas.
Blakely Funeral Home, Gaffney, S.C. is in charge of arrangements.
Scott Henry Darby
FORT VALLEY - Scott Henry Darby, 28, entered into rest Monday.
He was a 1998 graduate of Houston County High School. His memory will forever be treasured by his wife, Amy
Darby, Fort Valley; daughters, Hayley Cail, Bonaire, Olivia and Ansleigh Darby, Fort Valley. A memorial service
was held at McCullough Funeral Home Thursday with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be private.
McCullough Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
