Making the call
Lisa Hays has probably
saved a portion of Perry...
that is downtown anyway.
She is the one who maje
the call to 911 when she
saw smoke and flames com
ing out of the Chapman
CPA firm last weekend.
I saw S.S.S. the other day
downtown eating. I met
her many years ago, and
I probably owe her a BIG
Thank You. I’m not sure if
her car tag still carries her
initials on it, but most of
you know who I am talk
ing about. I don’t see her
much anymore, due to her
job I think. She is a woman
of many disguises, prob
ably has even been around
me at times, and I didn’t
even know it. Thank You
for being my friend when
I needed one the most, and
for your support today.
Caroline Amos is the
recipient of the 2008 Sam
Nunn Citizenship Award for
her outstanding leadership
and commitment to Middle
Georgia and its citizens.
The Education committee of
The Perry Chamber recog
nized Caroline at the Good
Morning Perry Breakfast
held at Lane Packing in
May. She received a SIOO
and a plaque in her honor.
How could I say no to
Dr. Dan Callahan when he
called me the other day? 49
years ago, he made the first
call to Leta Evans at home
and told her that he had a
baby for her. Dan Callahan
was one of the first doc
tors that worked out of the
clinic in Warner Robins. Of
course, she immediately
went to clinic, (WR didn’t
have a hospital at the time)
and picked up that baby.
Leta named him Daniel Foy
Evans. Daniel, after Dan
Callahan and Foy after
Danny’s father, Foy Solly
Evans. A special Thank You
to Dr. Dan for making that
call on March 15th, 1959.
So, what in the world did
Dr. Callahan want with
me today? It’s time for the
Museum of Aviation’s Fund
raiser in Warner Robins
that is coming up on July
12th. Everything starts
at 6 p.m.. There will be
a Silent auction first then
Live Auction, $20,000 in
cash or car/truck will be
given away. Too much to
name. Come see for your
self. Tickets are now avail
able.
Tom Tuggle cruised
through another birthday
and didn’t even let me
know. Wait til I see y0u....
Happy Belated birthday
to Von Bartlett. She was
seen dining with friends
last week in downtown
Perry. I like her a lot, and
I think that she is funny.
Sometimes you will see her
at Perry Drug working with
her husband, Ben. I love
the customer service that I
get when I go see them. It’s
the best in Town!!
My computer got very
sick this week. I have been
working on any computer
that I could get my hands

Uh-oh, we forgot to do

Unfortunately for the van

Kerry said, “Well there’s
one good thing about this

That’s one thing about my

Murder in the Cathedral
Thomas a Becket uttered
the quoted famous last
words as he was murdered
every time we see a new car,
and having five school-age
children, paying cash is not
an option right now. My
husband drives a 20-year
old Corolla station wagon to
work every day.
It gets great gas mileage,
but embarrasses the boys
when he pulls up to school
to drop them 6ff every morn
ing. He fondly calls his car
“the silver bullet”, but the
school administrators and
teachers call it “the clown
car”.
They love to watch the
boys pile out of it like a
bunch of, circus clowns.
They’ve even been kjiown to
hum the Ringling Brothers
circus song as the boys pile
out. The boys don’t like it
when they do that.
The boys did get their
revenge one day, though.

ding the boys about their
“clown car”.
One day while passing by
the post office in “the clown
car”, they spotted him in the
parking lot. They convinced
their dad to drive back by.
They rolled down all the
windows, hung out of them,
and yelled to him at the tops
of their lungs.
Fortunately, there were
several people in the parking
lot with him who witnessed
this spectacle, which left
them wondering who this
nut was that these children
were yelling at.
So, remember, you can

you might want to do it qui
