SOCIETY MEETING - The
Central Georgia Genealogical
Society, Inc. will meet Oct. 13,
7 p.m. at Flint EMC, 900 W.
Hwy 96, Warner Robins. Susan
Sloan will be their speaker. Her
topic will be “Genealogical Proof
Standard-Harnessing the Power
of Indirect Evidence.” Susan
holds a Bachelor of Science in
Psychology and a Masters of
Education, both from Georgia
State University. She is a mem
ber of the Georgia Professional
Genealogists, the Association
of Professional Genealogists,
and several state and local
genealogical societies and lin
eage societies. She serves
on the Board of the Georgia
Genealogical Society and on the
Advisory Committee for the R.
J. Taylor Foundation that pro
vides funding for books useful
to Georgia genealogists. She is
currently serving as President
of the Georgia Chapter of the
Association of Professional
Genealogists. Visitors are always
welcome. There is no admission

OBITUARIES
GRAY - Inez Powell, 85, passed away on Saturday,
September 20, 2008 in Gray,
Georgia. Funeral services were
held Tuesday at the Haynesville
Church of God with interment
at the Dodges Cemetery, near
Mcßae. Rev. Jimmy Revell offici
ated. The family suggests contribu
tions to the Haynesville Church of
God, P.O. Box 508, Hawkinsville,
Georgia. Mrs. Powell, born in
Coffee County, was the daughter
of the late George W and Frankie
(Cason) Hutchinson, and had lived
most of her life in Perry. She was a seamstress, a sitter
for the elderly and a member of the Haynesville Church
of God.
Survivors include her children, James O. Powell of
Arizona, Bernice Johnson of Plant City, Florida,
Watson- Hunt

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver
“Buddy” Powell and siblings, Delores Elilzalde and Allen
Powell.
