WR site searching for new LE center
By DON MONCRIEF

Things are not looking up
for the new law enforcement
center.
Metaphorically speaking,
that is.
In actuality the City of
Warner Robins continues to
move forward on the $7.5
million project. The “not
looking up” statement refers
to the fact they are now
looking down - as in “down
into the soil”.

Council voted to do just
that during its work session
Thursday. They voted to test
the soil in an area just off of
Prince Street - six lots and
about seven acres total - to
see if it is suitable for the
facility. If you think of the
area where the two recent
man-made ponds/lakes are
just off North Davis Drive
(around Georgia Military
College and the Middle
Georgia Community Action
Center), you’re in the right*
place (just look a bit further
east).

The vote itself actually
ended in a two-all stale
mate. Councilman Terry
Horton was not there due
to the death of a relative.
Councilmen John Williams
and John Havrilla voted for,
Councilmen Bob Wilbanks
and Tom Simms Jr., against.
Acting Mayor Clifford
Holmes stepped in at that
point and said “I’ll break the
tie” with a vote “for”.
The discussion itself lasted
about an hour. The reason
for that is the recent twist
added into the equation. The
contemporary gospel to traditional
hymns.

Before introducing Macon

the subject at hand involved
