From Staff Reports
The Perry Chamber hosted a progressive ribbon cutting
Wednesday to celebrate the new businesses as well as other
busineses re-opening after the fire that destroyed the corner
building on Carroll Street and did smoke damage to adja

Kim Sheridan, who will be the new Chairman of the Perry
Chamber; Daniel Brown, the current chairman, and Mayor
Jim Worrall led the festivities as the group moved from one
building another, ending up at Leta’s on the Square for
refreshments.
Businesses recognized in the progessive ribbon cutting
were The Swanson, Two Friends, C&C Photography, Perry
Bookstore, David Overton’s Jewelers, JoAnne’s Perry Florist
and Cossart Designs.

Said Rev. and Perry City
Councilman Willie King: “I
think the election of Obama
is a historic moment and
I am grateful to the Lord.
After growing up in the
south in the era of Dr. King,
I know the challenge. He
will make a good president.
He’ll be helpful to all of
America, not just one part
or one group.”
