“It’s just exciting to the
kids,” he said. “We told them
there aren’t many people
practicing football, so it’s a
special feeling.
“Both teams played really
well last week. In football, it
always comes down to block

what it will come down to
this Friday.”
THE STRATFORD GAME
The running numbers for
the Hornets in Macon were
staggering. Fullback John
Lee had 14 rushes for 163
yards and one 53-yard touch
down. Quarterback Casey
Young accounted for six
touchdowns, five rushing the
ball and one returning a pass
interception on defense.
Speaking of the defense,
the unit led by coordinator
Jamey Watson had four take
aways (two interceptions and
two fumble recoveries) and
held the Eagles to 182 total
yards. Stratford's Marquez
Lemon, a sophomore, is one
of the best in the GISA, com
ing in with 2,253 rushing
yards and 26 touchdowns,
but he was shut out of the
end zone and had 108 yards
on 19 totes.
The rest of the Eagle run
ning game netted just nine
yards. There was a touch
down pass of 56 yards, and
the other home team score
came off a Hornet fumble.
Things fell apart right
away for Stratford as quar
terback Culby Hinson
dropped a snap and Hornet
linebacker Jarrod Taylor
recovered on the Westfield
48. Joel Revis went around
right end for first-down
yardage, and Taylor Crook
