masks being donated to
the Houston County Fire
Department, currently on

(versus the 15 reported).
Therapups, however, is
still trying to raise funds
for five more kits for
Houston County, as well
as three kits for the Perry
Fire Department. Also,
Therapups is not an agen
cy, they are a group of vol
unteers that do Therapy
Dog work with their dogs.
Therapups is a local orga
nization spread through
out Central Georgia. They
visit in schools, the chil
dren’s hospital and nurs
ing homes but are affili
ated with Therapy Dogs
Inc and registered through
them.

HC awarded $3 million Career Academy grant

Education and Middle Georgia
Technical College in partner
ship have been awarded a $3 mil
lion grant for a career academy.
The State Board of the Technical
College System of Georgia, accord
ing to a release, approved the award
Thursday.

Perry Christmas Parade Route

The annual Perry Christmas parade will begin at 2 p.m. today.
The parade route begins on Macon Road near the post office
and continues to Carroll. It will proceed down Carroll Street,

according to the release, is to pro
vide students the training needed
to fill existing jobs, or jobs that will
exist soon, and to ensure that all
students have the necessary skills
and work ethic for employment
prior to leaving high school. MGTC

programs at the Houston County
Career Academy so that high school
