Most Certainly—Co To Your Doctor
And why not? Yet some people act as if a medicine could take
the place of a doctor! The best medicine in the world cannot do
this. Have a family doctor, consult him frequently. If we did
not believe doctors endorsed Ayer’s Cherry Pectoral for coughs
and colds, we would not offer it to you. Low e n ye
till that time, all there, lined up to
give their testimony, and become mem
bers of that Church. This is the
work God wants His Church to do.
But somebody may ask this ques
tion: “What kind of men does God
want to carry on this work?’’ I can
answer that in a single sentence. All
kinds. Rich men, poor men, men of
learning, illiterate men, wise men, un
wise men, men of leisure, men of toil
—all sorts of men. Why? Because
there are all sorts of men to work
with, and all sorts of work to do.
But I want to come to my closing
word. I want to ask you tonight,
“What is to be your answer to God’s
search?” There is not a man here
in this house that does not realize
that God is after him. What is to be
your answer to God’s search?
Before you dare to give your an
swer, will you stop with me and think
what your answer will involve? It
will involve one of two things. It
will involve your getting in God’s
plan or your getting out of God’s plan.
What does that mean? God has a
plan for every human life. There is
not a single life that God has not a
plan for it. For one He plans this,
for another, that.
Your answer to God tonight will be
a determining of what relation you
are to occupy in the future with ref
erence to God’s plan for your life.
Suppose you get out of God’s plan?
There is but one thing. FAILURE.
Success may be temporary, but fail
ure is bound to stare you in the face

outside of God’s plan. There is one
thing that gives success. Success is
in God’s plans, for they all point to
success. God is the embodiment of
all success, and in the plan of God
there is bound to be success.

Do not let any man say to himself,
“God’s work will go on if I do it or
not.”
I remember a story of an old cru
sader who was in such close touch
with his official staff that he could
shut his eyes while they were about
him and tell whether one man was out
or not. Finally the old man had his
eyes put out, and one morning he gath
ered his staff around him before send
ing them into battle, and looking up
through his empty sockets, he said:
“You can not go to battle today. There
is one man out; and you can not win
a fight with broken ranks.”
This is true of the Church. God
wants to win the battle, but He can
not do it with broken ranks.
Oh, young men, may this last word
appeal to you, and may God help you
to say, like Isaiah in that great and
wonderful vision, when he heard the
voice of God crying out, “Whom shall
I send?” and Isaiah answered, “Here
am I; send me.’’
