Rid Your Face
Os All Pimples
Skin Cleared in a Few Days by
Stuart’s Calcium Wafers, the Fa
mous Blood Purifier.
Pimples, blotches, skin eruptions of
all kinds, are simply the impurities in
the blood coming to the surface. All
the external treatment in the world
won’t do a particle of good unless you
purify the blood. And there’s noth
ing so humiliating as a face that’s all
“broken out” and spotted.

It’s a Glorious Change to Be Rid of
Pimples. You Just Feel Fine.
Stuart’s Calcium Wafers will clear
the most obstinate complexion, be
cause they go right into the blood
and remove the cause of the trouble.
The blood is cleansed of all impuri
ties and foreign substances and these
are quickly eliminated from the sys
tem. You’ll notice a wonderful
change in a few days —you will hardly
know yourself in a week.
And Stuart’s Calcium Wafers are
absolutely harmless to any one. Their
ingredients are just what a physician
prescribes in most cases of skin erup
tions and poor blood. These wafers
are put up in concentrated form,
which makes them act quickly and
thoroughly.
You can get Stuart’s Calcium Wafers
at any drug store at 50 cents a box.
Begin taking them today and then
look at yourself in the mirror in a few
days, and find all those awful pimples,
blackheads, acne, boils, liver spots,
rash, eczema and that muddy com
plexion rapidly disappearing and your
face cleared like the petal of a flower.

Jesus as Preacher and Teacher
(Continued from Page Four.)
never discusssed the questions of the
day. The nearest approach to a dis
cussion of the questions of the day
was when He said, “Render unto Cae
sar the things that are Caesar’s, and
unto God the things that are God’s;” a
text that we could well afford to
preach from in England, if I am not
mistaken, today; and not only in Eng
land, but throughout the world, for
the one dreaded enemy that we have
to face in all parts of the world today
is disregard for law and order. An
archy is lifting its hand and defying
the civilized world, and if Jesus today
was before the world as He was once,
I verily believe that He would again
say, “Render unto Caesar the things
that are Caesar’s, and unto God the
things that are God’s.” But He never
allowed himself to go off in discussion
of the detailed problems of the day.
How do we account for this marvel
lous life? We cannot account for it al
together by the greatness of the mis
sion that He faced. We cannot ac
count for it altogether by the great
ness of His theme, great as it was.
We cannot account for it by the great
ness of His personality as men count
personality. How are we to account
for it? My brethren, there is one word
that to me accounts for all the won
der and amazement, and might, and
power that accompanied the mes
sages of Jesus —whether they were
messages delivered in public, or mes
sages delivered in private—and that
was the little word, love.. We find it
here in the context. The thing that
made these men marvel at Jesus’
teaching in the synagogue was not so
much' what He said, but it was the way
they interpreted what He said by the
life that He lived. Every phase of
suffering and sorrow and sickness that
presented itself to Jesus, He at once
tenderly and lovingly addressed him
self to it, healed it and blessed the
people. And it was because of this
that they were so impressed by the
words that He spoke.
My brethren, Jesus could not get into
a community without everybody know
ing it. There was some mystical some
thing that went out from Jesus, that
touched everybody and everything in
every community that‘He ever enter
ed. That something that went out
from Him was love. Oh, my brother
minister, may I make this suggestion
to you? I take it to my own heart
also. If you would have your words
weigh like the words of the Nazarene,
you must have the same degree of
love for men that He had. We talk
sometimes about imitating the life of
Christ, and some of us begin to try
the process, but oh, we never imitate
Christ like that. We imitate Christ
when we cannot help it, not when we
try. The very fact that we have to
try indicates to us that it is impossi
ble. The man or woman imitates
Christ most perfectly when propelled,
even unconsciously, by the power of
love. No man can walk today through
the streets of South London, as I have
walked, in these past weeks since I
have come to labor in the midst of
these people, and see the pinched
faces and naked backs and hear the
cry for bread, if he has any of the
Spirit of Christ in him, and not be
moved with inexpressible compassion.
And, my brethren, if in your ministry,
as you come in contact with such suf
fering and need as He faced, you are
not moved with such compassion as
you cannot find words to express, your
pulpit, never mind how well prepared
you are for it, will be lacking in the
one essential thing that characterized
The Golden Age for December 5, 1912.
the words of Jesus; it will be lacking
in power. Until a man, when he
stands by the sick bed of a suffering
man or woman or child, feels his heart
going out, feels it to the extent that
he himself is almost in the grip of
the same pain, all the words that he
may speak round that bedside will be
meaningless to the sick and suffering.
It is when they see in the expression
of the man who speaks something of
the suffering that they feel that his
words grip them with irresistible pow
er, and they are moved by them.
Yes, until a man, when he stands
and looks upon a community of scep
tics, men who are giving their time to
criticising the Bible and the uproot
ing of the old faith —I say until a
man when he sees that going on finds
his heart going out, not for contro
versy, but in such love as that he could
weep over them tears of agony, all
the argument that he may advance
against those men will amount to
nothing.
I shall never forget a lesson I had
just on this line a few years ago. I
was riding on a railroad train. There
sat by my side a man who was a
sceptic; and he delighted in contro
versy; and he got me into it, some
thing which I rarely ever allow any
man to do. But he succeeded, and
for a while we sat facing each other,
and arguing about these things. While
we sat arguing there got on the cars
a beautiful but simple-looking girl. No
one knew her on the train; no one
knew us. There we sat and argued.
Early in the morning, as our train
pulled into a little side station, there
got on board a decrepit saint. She
had a stick in one hand and a crutch
under her other arm, and she hobbled
up and down the aisle of the train un
til she took her seat. But nobody
stopped to speak to her. We were
so busy arguing. I was trying to con
vert a sceptic, and he was trying to
convert a minister Neither of us
seemed to be aware of the fact that
the other was playing the fool; but
we were? We found it out later. I
thank God we did! Our train pulled
finally into a little eating station, and
just out through the window opposite
where this old saint sat there was a
coffee-stand, and on that coffee-stand
was a steaming kettle with coffee in it.
I saw the old saint looking wistfully
out of the window, but I was so busy
trying to convert a sceptic, that I nev
er thought about endeavoring to min
ister to her needs. After a while this
sweet little girl got up, and went down
the whole train, and then out on to the
step, and then she came back with a
cup of coffee in her hand and a sand
wich; and she walked up to the old
saint, and pushed back her old bonnet,
and pushed her spectacles down over
her eyes, for they were up over her
forehead, and she said in a tone as
sweet as I ever heard, “Mother,
wouldn’t you like to have a cup of cof
fee?” The old woman looked up at
her, and the tears began to come down
her rugged face, and she said, “Honey,
what makes you call me Mother? Am
I like you mother?” “No,” said she,
“you are not like my mother, but you
must be somebody’s mother, and I
thought you would like to have a cup
of coffee this cold morning.” And she
said, “Honey, I was wanting some cof
fee so badly, but I did not have any
money. I am going out to see my
daughter that they say is about to
die, and I have no money except for
my ticket. And if I had any money,
I could not have got out.” Just then
she handed her the coffee, and she
