CENSOR FOR PRIVATE DANCES.
Hereafter the home life of girls un
der age found dancing in public halls
in Kansas City, Kan., will be inves
tigated by the welfare workers of
the Police Department of that city.
Rev. J. M. Dunlevy, municipal dance
inspector, said:
“Heretofore we have sent these
young girls home with a reprimand,
but we have determined upon a new
method. The girls’ n'ames will be
taken, their parents visited and their
stories investigated. Moreover, we
begin today a crusade upon private
dances. In public halls we have en
forced the rule that partners must
stay at least 8 inches apart, but in
private dances there has been no limit,
and the squeezy, nagging dance pre
vails to a disgraceful extent.” —Kan-
sas City Journal.
