GIVING THANKS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office was shown support from Learn-N-Play. The children at Learn-N-Play made the BCSO a banner and officer survival kits.

Winder resident reports home invasion; intruder chased away by family dogs
A Winder woman
recently reported a home
invasion at her residence
on Eastbrook Drive.
She told Barrow County
Sheriff’s Office deputies
a black male wearing a
white shirt and black pants
yanked the back door to
her residence open, but
two large dogs were at the
back door and the male
was “caught by surprise”
and he slammed the door
shut.
She said the male took
off running towards the
woods behind her resi
dence.
The complainant said
she “called law enforce
ment due to safety reports,”
however, she didn’t want a
report of the incident.

INCIDENTS
Other recent incidents
reported to the BCSO
included:
•criminal trespass on
Charlie Hall Road at High
way 211 NW, Hoschton. A
man reported his ex-son-
in-law had cut a roadway
on his property and taken
down “posted” signs.
•public drunkenness,
disorderly conduct and
willful obstruction of law
enforcement officers at a
Ridgeview Road, Auburn,
residence, where a physi
cal domestic dispute was
reported. The male com
plainant/homeowner said
an intoxicated female
attacked him, when he
refused to fix her car,
and when he called 9-1-1
she “snatched the phone
away” from him while he
was speaking with the dis
patcher. He said, after the
altercation, the female ran
out the door and he saw her
run into the woods across
the street from his house.
When officers located the
female she attempted to
run from them and she
started “yelling and curs
ing” in the presence of
two juveniles who were in
their own yard. She also
slammed her head into the
partition in the patrol car
causing a cut that required
medical attention.
•knowingly driving a
motor vehicle on a sus
pended, cancelled or
revoked registration on
University Parkway at
Carl-Bethlehem Road,
Winder, where a traf
fic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 2005 Ford
truck.
•speeding and driving
while unlicensed on Uni
versity Parkway at Smith
Cemetery Road, Winder,
where the driver of a 2002
Chrysler van was stopped
for traveling an estimated
85 mph in a 65 mph zone.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, outstand
ing warrant and open con
tainer violation on High
way 124 at Cains Road,
where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of a
2005 Honda van.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license and per
mitting an unlicensed per
son to drive on Patrick
Mill Road SW at Burson
Maddox Road, Winder,
where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of
a 1993 Acura Integra that
did not have a valid tag
displayed.
•theft by taking at a
Scott Drive, Winder, res
idence, where a woman
reported the theft of her
2014 Chrysler 200 vehi
cle.
•criminal trespass at an
Arch Tanner Road, Beth
lehem, residence. A man,
reportedly the homeown
er, reported he was away
from the residence and his
ex-wife was on the prop
erty without authority and
was taking items from the
residence.
•theft by taking, injur
ing, tearing down or
destruction of mailboxes
and injuring, defacing or
destroying mail at an Eli
jah Way, Bethlehem, res
idence. A woman report
ed her mailbox had been
knocked off its post and
was left at the entrance to
the neighborhood on July
24. She stated she tracked
a package that she was
expecting and it had been
delivered on July 23 and
the package containing a
$60 dress was missing.
•criminal trespass at a
Fort Street, Winder res
idence. A man report
ed someone entered his
vacant rental property and
was seen tampering with
the front door.
•battery - Family Vio
lence Act (FVA) at a
Highway 124, Hoschton,
residence, where a domes
tic dispute was reported
between a female and her
sister’s boyfriend, due
to the male smoking pot
in his bedroom and the
female complainant being
on parole. The female
complainant stated the
male threw a candle in a
holder at her and struck
her in the forehead.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart on Atlanta High
way, where an individ
ual allegedly took $391
in merchandise from the
store without paying.
•burglary at a Smith
Sisters Road, Winder,
residence, where a man
reported $4,400 in items,
including a generator,
welder and go-cart, miss
ing from his garage.
•lost/found item on
Highway 211 NW at Old
Thompson Mill Road,
where a female report
ed finding a floral purse/
backpack that contained
several items, including a
Georgia driver’s license,
bank card, Social Security
card and credit card.
•theft by taking and
criminal trespass at
Advance Auto Parts on
Loganville Highway,
Bethlehem, where the
manager reported dam
age to the gas tank of a
2013 Chevrolet Sonic that
belonged to the company.
The man stated the gas
tank had been damaged in
order for someone to steal
gas from the vehicle.
•stalking at a McKen-
dree Court, Bethlehem,
residence, where a man
reported a female harass
ing his family. He stated
the female left a note in
his vehicle telling him his
wife was having an affair
with the female offender’s
husband.
•disturbance at a Hon
eysuckle Trail, Winder,
residence, where a domes
tic dispute was reported
between a man and his
girlfriend.
•criminal trespass at a
Rivermill Road, Bethle
hem, residence, where a
woman reported someone
had shot her vehicle with
a BB gun.
•harassing phone calls
at an Arbor Lake Walk,
Hoschton, residence. A
woman reported receiving
39 harassing phone calls
on her cell phone and 70
harassing emails from her
estranged husband’s girl
friend.
•harassment at a Free
man Brock Road, Auburn,
residence. A female report
ed threatening messages
had been made towards
her on her ex-boyfriend’s
new girlfriend’s social
media site discussing an
incident of child custody
between the complainant
and her ex-boyfriend.
