Sheriff’s office reports 32 arrests
The Barrow County Sheriff’s Office
reports the recent arrests of 32 people.
Those arrested and their charges include:
•Richard Eugene Givens, 45, 131 Cree-
kwood Road, Winder, deposit account
fraud.
•Thomas Allen Ridge. 40, 108 Wood-
view Court, Woodstock, driving while
driver’s license is suspended or revoked.
•Christopher Gary Barnes, 30, 104 Pat
rick Mill Road SW, Winder, purchase,
possess, manufacture, distribute or sell
marijuana and probation violation.
•Michael Wayne Morris, 57, 142 Ridge
way Street, Winder, driving while driver’s
license is suspended or revoked, open
container violation and driving under the
influence (DUI) of alcohol.
•Ryan Elizabeth Boyd-Nesbitt. 31, 626

a Family Violence Act (FVA) order.

Winder Police Department incidents
WPD responds to vehicle break-ins
The Winder Police
Department recently
responded to several vehi
cle break-ins on Exchange
Boulevard in the area of
the Carmike Movie The
ater and Perfect 10 Nails
and Spa.
Five vehicle owners
reported that their vehicles
had been broken into on
Aug. 4, while they were
parked in the parking lot.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other recent incidents

proper temporary tag on
her vehicle.

reportedly being violent
towards his brother.

his Walmart.com account
had been tampered with
because he received an
email stating three items

his account was "frozen.”

a woman reported giving
her credit card information
to a man who called and
threatened her with legal

The complainant stated
she checked her credit
card account and a cou
ple of fraudulent charges
had been made. She also
stated a second credit
card account had multiple
fraudulent charges show
ing up on it as well.

complainant said he was
in Memphis, Tenn., at the
time the trimmer was sto
len.

ed, cancelled or revoked
registration on Gainesville
Highway, where a vehicle
was stopped for speeding.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of alcohol on
North Broad Street, where
the driver of a Nissan Sen-
tra reportedly jumped the
curb and struck a small
tree,
•criminal trespass at an
East Wright Street resi
dence, where a domestic
dispute was reported. The
complainant stated a male
and female were in the
roadway outside the resi
dence yelling at each other.

a van reportedly rear-end

where an 85-year-old male
had fallen and was bleed

later pronounced dead.

truck was towed from the
area due to being a traffic
hazard.

where a man reported his
1973 Schmelke pool cue
stick had been stolen.

er location, where a female
had reportedly been hit by
her boyfriend during a
domestic dispute.

reported the theft of her
phone she was charging
while she walked up the
street to McDonalds.

ton Street residence, where
a man reported the theft of
his wallet.

at Zaxby’s on East May
Street, where the driver of
a Ford Mustang reported
the driver of a Ford Taurus
struck the rear of his vehi
cle while he was stopped
in traffic. The driver of the
Taurus stated his vehicle
was struck from behind by
a black SUV that did not
stop.

Statham Police Department
SPD to host -meet and greed
The City of Statham will host a "meet and greet” on
Friday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Statham Community
Center. The event will allow citizens to meet local police
officers with the Statham Police Department.
There will also be demonstrations by Statham K9 offi
cers Basco and Bella.
