inspections released
The Environmental Health Division of the Barrow
County Health Department recently released several
restaurant and county facilities inspection scores.
The scoring system used is: A - 90-100, food safe
ty excellence; B - 80-89, satisfactory compliance;
C - 70-79. marginal compliance; and U - 69 or less,
unsatisfactory compliance.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
ACTIVITY REPORT
The following Environmental Health activity report
for July was released:
•Food Service Program - 14 formal inspections and
two informal evaluations.
•Sewage Disposal Program - 16 residential systems
inspected; 18 sites for system installations evaluated;
seven sites for system installations re-evaluated; four
system repairs inspected; and 12 permits for system
installations issued.
•Complaints - five complaints; four complaint
investigations; four complaints re-checked; and 4
complaints abated.
Incidents continued from 8A
•fraudulent driver’s license or identification card; false
statement in application, seat belt violations and driving
without a valid driver’s license on Holsenbeck School
Road at Jefferson Highway, Winder, where a female driver
was reportedly stopped for traveling too fast towards a law
enforcement officer directing traffic.
•theft by deception at an Argone Road, Winder, resi
dence, where a man reported receiving a call from some
one claiming to be with the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS) informing the complainant he owed back taxes.
The complainant stated he purchased $2,400 in cards, as
requested by the male caller, but was told he still owed
$2,200 in back taxes.
•identity theft fraud when using/possessing identifying
information concerning a person at a Custom Lane, Wind
er, residence, where a man reported he received notice
from his credit card company advising him that his new
credit card was approved and was in the mail. The com
plainant said he immediately called the bank to inform
them he did not request a new card and the new card was
cancelled.
•theft by shoplifting at Walmart on Atlanta Highway,
Winder, where a female reported a male had taken $27 in
merchandise, concealed them, and passed all points of sale
without attempting to pay for the items.
•theft by shoplifting at Walmart on Atlanta Highway,
where a male reported a man had selected $113 in mer
chandise and attempted to exit the store without paying
for the items.
So powerful was the

Of this privilege, I am
not envious. I delight in
seeing a town and its peo
ple of the 1950s told in
such a splendid way. I love
this book. It reminds me of
times spent with Scout as
she told the story of May-
comb and its people.

still a huge fan.
