Moose Lodge. He received his
Bachelor’s Degree from the
University of South Carolina.
Mr. Anderson was preceded
in death by his brother, A.B.
Anderson Jr.; and sister, Vivian
Anderson.
Survivors include his daugh
ter and son-in-law, Lynn and
Randy McKinney, Jefferson;
granddaughters, Sydney Rob
erts, Athens, Madyson McKin
ney, and Morgan McKinney and
grandson, Maverick McKinney,
all of Jefferson; and two neph
ews.
The funeral service was held
on Sunday, September 4, in the
chapel of Evans Funeral Home
with the Rev. Mark Mobley

(Mr. Jack) Anthony
‘Jack’ Anthony, a lifelong
resident of the Center Commu
nity in Jackson County, passed
away quietly on Wednesday,
August 31, 2016, following a
brief illness. He was 93 years
old.
Mr. Anthony was a member
of the Center United Methodist
Church his entire life. He retired
from a long career with the
Georgia Power Company. He
was a veteran of World War II,
with his service in Okinawa and
Korea during the war, and was
a member of the Albert Gordon
Post 56 of the American Legion
in Jefferson. He
was preceded
in death by his
parents, Maude
and Fred Anthony; a brother,
Francis Anthony; and a sister,
June Anthony Elder.
Survivors include his son,
Jerry Anthony, Athens; daugh
ter, Jane Anthony Carroll
(Dave), Vidalia, and grandchil
dren, Matt Phillips (Jodi) and
Ashley Phillips Perry (Billy);
one great-grandson Luke Perry,
all of Vidalia; and sister, Bennie
Anthony Heard of the Center
Community.
Mr. Anthony was married for
many years to the late Von-
nie Johnston of Dallas, Texas.
Her children, Cindy, Duff, Pam,
Julie, Mark and Mike have
remained very special in his
life.
The family wishes to thank

Andy, Amanda, and Shelby for
many years of care and loving
friendship.

Friday, September 2. Burial was
at the Center United Method

Dwayne Gentry Bramlett,
57, died Saturday, August 27,
2016, at Abbey Hospice House
in Social Circle, Ga.
Born in Winder, he was the
son of Shirley
Ward Bramlett
and the late
Carl Eugene
Bramlett.
Dwayne was a 1976 graduate
of Winder-Barrow High School.
After high school, he joined
the United States Marine Corps
Reserve.
He was preceded in death by
a daughter, Dedra Ann Bram
lett.
Surviving in addition to his
mother include a daughter,
Dione Michele Ashley (James),
Greenwood, S.C.; a fiance,
Becky; brother, David Eugene
Bramlett (Zana), Winder; two
sisters, Debra Ann Williams

Riley Ashley; and many loved
nephews and nieces.

Eugene Carbaugh, Sr., 74,
passed away Tuesday, August
30, 2016, at his residence with
family.
Mr. Carbaugh was born in
Franklin County. Pa., on July
11, 1942, the son of the late
Brady LeRoy and Helen Clever
Carbaugh. He was a member
of Homer Baptist Church, had
served in the Navy and was
retired. Mr. Carbaugh was also
preceded in death by his sib
lings, Patricia Marie Mowen,
Faye Lyne Sprenkle and Rich
ard Lee Carbaugh.
Survivors include his wife
of 49 years, Vyone Carbaugh,

Mrs. Cousineau was born

driver for Hall County, office
manager for Elk Roofing, and
an underwriter for Traveler's
Insurance Company until 1994.
She was a member of 12 Stone
Church in Dacula. She was a
loving wife, mother, grand
mother and friend and she loved
cruising.

held on Saturday, September
10, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of

and father and is survived by

by all.

Robert Van Duren
WINDER - Robert S. Van
Duren, 60, passed away Sunday,
August 28, 2016, after battling
lung cancer for 12 months.
While the last year was dif
ficult due to several rounds of
chemotherapy and radiation, he
was able to see his daughter,
Shannon Van Duren, graduate
from college in May, as well as
spend this past Christmas with
his family. He was surrounded
by his family at the end. Robert
was preceded in death by his
father, H. W. Van Duren; and
sister, Bonnie Van Duren.
Survivors include a daugh
ter, Shannon Van Duren, Mari
etta; mother, Joanne Van Duren,
Winder; brother, A1 Van Duren
(Susan Cleveland), Stillwater,
Minn.; sister, Karen Van Duren
(Kevin Maxwell), Lawrencev
ille; nephews, Dan Van Duren
(Jessica LaFine), Maple Grove,
Minn., and Nate Van Duren,
Minnetonka, Minn.; step-neph
ew, Matthew Maxwell; and

border collie Jack.

or memorial service be held.
His request was to be cremated.

Winder, where Robert sang in
the choir until he was unable to
sing because of the cancer.

He served briefly as an Air
man in the United States Air
Force.
Bob loved spending time in
nature, visiting zoological parks
and historic museums, looking
at train photos, studying math,

talking and spending time with
family and friends.

husband Alex, Knoxville Tenn.;
son, Thomas Eldon Taylor and
wife Courtney; and first grand
son Tatum, Ft Collins, Colo.;
nephews, William R. Johnson
and wife Ramona, Georgetown,
S.C., and David Neil Johnson
and wife Renee, Virginia; and
niece, Alice Beth Johnson and
husband Steve, Neeces, S.C.
A memorial service was
held at his private residence in
Comer on Saturday, September
10.
