It’s a boy!
Northeast Georgia Med
ical Center Braselton has
delivered its first baby in
its new labor and delivery
unit. A baby boy, Lucas
Arthur, was bom at 10:03
a.m. on Sept. 12.
Parents Sara and Kyle
Herndon welcomed guests
in their suite of the new
unit last week. Lucas was
delivered by Dr. Clay
ton Cox. He was seven
pounds, 15 ounces and 21
inches long.
The new unit opened its
doors on Sept. 12 after
months of construction
and preparation.
The new unit has 10
labor, delivery, recovery
and postpartum rooms.
These hotel-style rooms
include a 4” memory foam
mattress, built-in music
interfaces and hydrother
apy showers.
It also has two C-Sec-
tion suites, a Level II Neo
natal Intermediate Care
Unit, on-site lactation
consultants, a sunlit nurs
ery and a family waiting
room.
“We are excited to start a
new chapter for Northeast
Georgia Health System
and expand our obstetrics
services into Greater Bra
selton,” said NGMC presi
dent Anthony Williamson.
“Everything went very
well on our opening day,
due to months of prepara
tion by our staff and phy
sicians in anticipation of
this historic day.”
