Woman ‘crying uncontrollably ’
inside Statham Waffle House
The following recent incidents were
reported to the Statham Police Depart
ment:
•information report at Waffle House
on Atlanta Highway, where a female was
reportedly sitting in a booth inside the
restaurant “crying uncontrollably.”
•possession and use of drug-related
objects and possession of marijuana at the
city park on Park Street.
•theft by shoplifting at Dollar General
on Atlanta Highway, where a male who
had shoplifted on two prior occasions was
reported inside the store again. Employees
stated they didn’t know if the male took
anything on this date because he observed
several employees watching him and he
left the store.
•reckless driving and speeding on Atlan
ta Highway, where the driver of a 2002
Volvo was stopped for speeding 69 mph in
a 35-mph speed zone.
•K-9 deployment and agency assist at an
Atlanta Highway traffic stop.
•K-9 deployment and agency assist at a
Nunnally Road NE location, where a male
riding a bicycle had fled into the woods.
•terroristic threats and acts, burglary and
harassing phone calls at a Granite Lane
residence.
•theft by taking at a Railroad Street res
idence, where a man reported the theft of
a drive-out tag off his 2001 Lexus parked
at his residence.
•disorderly conduct at a Providence
Road residence, where a dispute between
neighbors was reported.
•possession and use of drug-related
objects at a Providence Road residence.
•9-1-1 hang-up at a Pendergrass Drive
residence, where a possible domestic dis
pute was going on. A female at the resi
dence stated her and her boyfriend were
arguing and she did call 9-1-1, but she
told the dispatcher she no longer needed
assistance and hung up.
•driving while unlicensed or on an
expired driver’s license and failure to stop/
yield at a stop/yield sign on Atlanta High
way, where a traffic stop was conducted on
the driver of a 2000 Nissan Maxima.
•entering an automobile or other motor
vehicle with the intent to commit a theft
or other felony at a Third Street location,
where a woman reported someone entered
her vehicle and stole her purse that con
tained $40 in cash and a bottle of Percocet,
and she also stated a half a tank of gas had
been stolen from the vehicle.
•drugs kept in original container at
an Atlanta Highway traffic stop, where
the driver of a 2003 Volvo was stopped
because the tag light was not working on
the vehicle.
•speeding and reckless driving on High
way 316, where a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Spark
who was traveling 101 mph in a 65-mph
speed zone.
ACCIDENTS
The following accidents were also
recently reported by the Statham Police
Department:
•two-vehicle accident on Highway 316
at GA 211/Bethlehem Road, where the
driver of a 2005 Pontiac G6 and the driver
of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am made contact
with each other as they were attempting to
cross Highway 316.
•one-vehicle accident on Jefferson
Street at Elizabeth Street, where the driver
of a 2015 Volkswagen Passat reported
striking a deer.
•one-vehicle accident on GA 211/Beth
lehem Road, where the driver of a 1999
Buick Century reportedly fell asleep,
crossed over the southbound lane and
traveled down an embankment.
Recent town arrests reported
The police departments in Auburn, Bra-
selton and Statham and the Georgia State
Patrol report the following recent arrests:
AUBURN
•Tony Lee Fowler, 24, 131 Quail Valley
Road, Auburn, battery - Family Violence
Act (FVA).
•Tyler Price, 23, 311 Oakdale Drive,
Auburn, failure to appear bench warrant.
•Anthony Joseph Paradowicz, 41, 904
Westwood Lane, Winder, arrest warrant.
BRASELTON
•Lor Lyn Linkletter, 46, 2400 Sherrie
Lane, Conyers, knowingly driving a motor
vehicle on a suspended, cancelled or revoked
registration and possession of a Schedule IV
controlled substance.
•Prince Adegboyega, 26, 6401 97th Ave
nue, no city listed, possession of marijuana
and possession of a Schedule I controlled
substance.
STATHAM
•Heather Leigh Christopherson, 27, 180
Hanover Drive, Athens, disorderly conduct.
•Justin Alexander Robinson, 22, 599 Gor
don Street, Jefferson, possession and use of
drug-related objects.

GEORGIA
STATE PATROL

or missing license plate, possession of meth-
amphetamine and driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of alcohol.
•Lige Ambrose Colquitt, 33, 1411 Waver-
ly Way, Monroe, improper lane change/fail
ure to maintain lane, failure to obey a stop
sign or yield after stopping, must give sig
nal/insufficient use of turn signals, reckless
driving, improper use of central turn lane,
improper passing on left, willful obstruc
tion of law enforcement officers, criminal
trespass, fleeing/attempting to elude law
enforcement officers and theft by receiving
stolen property.
•Anibal Jose Vargas-Aguilar, 36, 5214
Bluegrass Court, Norcross, improper lane
change/failure to maintain lane and driving
without a valid driver’s license.
•Dazie Rae Sexton, 20, 506 Yargo Lane,
Winder, possession and use of drug-relat
ed objects and possession of methamphet-
amine.
•Travis Duane Graves, 27, 311 Wood-
view Drive, Winder, possession and use of
drug-related objects, possession of metham-
phetamine, driving while driver's license is
suspended or revoked and failure to obey a
stop sign or yield after stopping.
Late night pancake run leads to arrest
In an incident reported by the Braselton
Police Department, a man was arrested
for drinking and driving after he almost
struck the Hwy. 53 McDonald’s while going
through the drive-thru. Cory Alexander
Fugatt is facing charges of failure to main
tain lane and driving under the influence.
Employees reported around midnight there
was an intoxicated person at the drive-thru
who almost struck the building.
Officers found the vehicle and the driver
(Fugatt) reportedly tried to get away from
the patrol car. He reportedly sped out of the
restaurant parking lot and failed to maintain
its lane.
When officers stopped Fugatt, they
smelled alcohol on his breath. Officers had
a hard time understanding what Fugatt was
saying since he was eating pancakes.
When he was finished eating, officers
noticed his speech was slurred and mum
bled. He told officers he had two glasses of
wine.
Fugatt performed a sobriety test. Officers
let him remove his slippers for the test. He
was arrested following the test.
Bank employees concerned how
disabled woman treated by sister
The following incidents
were recently reported to
the Winder Police Depart
ment:

where bank employees
expressed concerns over
how a 56-year-old dis
abled female was being
treated by her 62-year-old
sister.

Bethlehem, where the
driver of a 1996 Chevro
let Lumina was stopped
for speeding 68 mph in a
55-mph speed zone.

where the driver of a 2016
Volvo reported the driver
of a 2012 Dodge truck,
attempting to back up for
an 18-wheeler making a
turn at a red light, backed

A female with a TPO
against her inquired about
the TPO that included
stipulations about the sale
of a residence, turning off
utilities at the residence

inside the residence.

fied by his bank that a
check he had placed in the
mail box at the post office
several weeks prior had
been tampered with and
the payee name had been
changed.
The complainant said
he was advised the check
had been cashed at a
bank in either Winder or
Dahlonega.

Drive residence, where a
man reported receiving a
phone call from someone
identifying themselves as
a captain of the Barrow
County Warrant Office.
The complainant stated
the male told him he had
two bench warrants for
the complainants arrest
for failure to appear for
jury duty on Sept. 19.
The complainant said he
was instructed, in order
to avoid being arrested, to
pay $250 per warrant via
GDot caard.

incidents reported to the
Barrow County Sheriff's
Office.
Incidents requiring the
response of the BCSO
included:
•terroristic threats
and acts, simple battery

hindering persons making
emergency phone calls at
a Mears Street. Winder,
residence, where a domes
tic dispute was reported
between a woman and her
son. The woman stated
her son assaulted her, in
the presence of her five-
year-old grandson and a
family friend, and then he
ran away on foot.
•criminal trespass at
a Tanners Lane, Bethle
hem, residence, where a
woman reported “there
was a repo-man on her
property” and he refused
to leave when she asked
him to do so.
•criminal damage to
property and criminal
trespass at a Greeson
Road, Statham, residence,
where someone reported
“a gunshot and two people
lying on the ground.” A
female, who was one of
six people on the scene,
said one of the men had
gone crazy and was sitting
in the truck with a gun.
The female stated she and
the male in the truck had
been talking, they began
to argue, and she got in
her vehicle to leave and
he hit her vehicle with his
truck. She said she got out
of her vehicle and started
yelling at the man telling
him he hit her vehicle and
another man came over to
see about her and yelled
for her to get back in her
car because another one
of the men had pulled a
gun on the male in the
truck. She said she heard
a gunshot and saw four of
the man wrestling on the
ground.
