Woman attempts to hide
glass pipe in her backside
A woman was arrested on multiple drug charges last
week in Braselton after officers found her passed out in
her vehicle with the car still in park. The woman later
hid a glass pipe in her rectum, but it was removed when
she got to the jail.
Officers with the Braselton Police Department arrested
Shelia Marie Osburn on charges of possession of a con
trolled substance, possession of a drug-related object,
outstanding warrant, original container violation and
driving while driver's license is suspended.
Osburn was found apparently passed out in the driver’s
seat at the gas pump of a Hwy. 211 convenience store.
She was slumped over to her left side and had her mouth
open.
Officers woke her and she said she was fine, then start
ed talking about her dog having seizures. She reportedly
told officers she’d been shopping at the outlet malls in
Commerce and was traveling back to Commerce.
When checking her identification, officers learned she
had an outstanding warrant. She was asked to exit the
vehicle and Osburn took an item from the center console
and put it down the backside of her pants.
When asked about the item, Osburn acted like she
didn’t know what the officer was talking about. But offi
cers could see a round bulge in the backside of her pants,
and when they felt it, they could feel an item similar to a
glass smoking device.
Osburn told officers she would remove the item if they
would take the handcuffs off. One cuff was removed and
Osburn reportedly placed her hand down the back of
her pants, struggled to remove the item and apparently
placed the item inside her rectum.
“I asked Osburn why she did not remove the item,”
said the officer. “Osburn acted as if she never put any
thing down her pants. I informed Osburn that I was con
cerned the meth pipe would break inside her.”
Meanwhile, officers searched her vehicle and found
Lorazepam, Oxycodone and Alprazolam pills. Osburn
said the Alprazolam was for her son who has seizures.
On the way to the jail, officers told Osburn she would
be charged with a felony if she crossed the guard line
with the pipe still inside her. She again denied having
the pipe.
But when they got to the jail, officers said if she
removed the item immediately, they would not charge
her with a felony.
She went into the restroom with a female deputy. After
a few minutes, the two returned and the deputy handed
officers an evidence bag with a glass smoking device.
The deputy said Osburn removed it from her rectum.
On the pipe, there were burn marks, along with an
unknown residue.
MAN ARRESTED FOR MDMA
When officers were checking on Osburn passed out in
her vehicle, they heard screeching tires nearby on Hwy.
211. In this unrelated incident, a man was arrested after
officers found a hallucinogenic drug on him.
Prince Adegboyega Adehayo is facing charges of
possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled
substance.
Adehayo was the passenger of a vehicle that was
driving the wrong way down Hwy. 211. The vehicle also
stopped at the gas pump of the Hwy. 211 convenience
store.
Officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle
and smelled alcohol on the driver.
When Adehayo got out of the vehicle, officers saw a
baggie hanging out of his pocket. Underneath him was a
baggie containing marijuana.
He grabbed the bag and tried to put it in his pocket, but
officers told him to put it back. Adehayo threw it into the
backseat. When asked about the baggie hanging out of
his pocket, he replied, “what bag?”
He later told officers it was MDMA.
MARIJUANA SMELL
‘MIGHT BE MY CAMEL CIGARETTES’
In another incident, a woman was arrested for drugs
after her vehicle was pulled over for no registration. Lori
Lyn Linkletter is facing charges of suspended registra
tion and possession of a controlled substance.
After pulling over the vehicle, officers smelled mari
juana inside.
She said her son may have smoked the substance in the
vehicle a couple days ago. She said it could also be the
smell of her Camel Crush cigarettes.
Officers explained to her that marijuana and tobacco
do not smell the same.
Before officers searched the vehicle, Linkletter told
them she had “rigs" in the trunk of her vehicle. “Rig”
refers to a syringe commonly used to inject drugs into
the body. But Linkletter said there wasn’t anything inside
them.
Officers found approximately 75 syringes in the trunk,
three of which still had liquid in them. Linkletter said the
liquid was "roxy,” also known as Oxycodone.
She was then arrested.
