WPD Incidents
Man says another man uses
baseball bat on his vehicle
The Winder Police Department recently responded
to the following incidents:
•criminal trespass, aggravated assault and outstand
ing warrant on West Athens Street, where a dispute
was reported. The male complainant stated another
male struck his vehicle with a baseball bat and was
headed west on West Athens Street.
•criminal trespass and aggravated assault at a Court
yard Circle, residence, where a domestic dispute was
reported between a man and the son of his girlfriend.
•forgery at Phillips 66 on North Broad Street, where
a woman reported a female tired to purchase a pack of
cigarettes with a counterfeit $100 bill.
•open door at an Oakhill Drive residence. A woman
reported she arrived at her home and found the front
door open. She said she had lost the keys to the front
door and only her neighbor knew she would leave the
door unlocked. The officer reported when he went to
talk with the neighbor she stated the complainant’s
wife had been to her residence earlier in the day ask
ing for a cigarette and when the neighbor left the room
and came back she found her husband’s wallet on the
floor and money was missing from the wallet.
•theft by taking at an East Wright Street residence,
where a man reported tools had been taken from his
carport.
•outstanding warrant at a Georgia Avenue location,
•fraud at a Howard Circle residence. A man report
ed he and his wife had been scammed six times over
the weekend by someone claiming to be a captain
with the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office.
•unauthorized use of financial transaction card at
Fidelity Bank on Crescent Drive. A man reported an
unauthorized transaction on his account for $2,265 for
a VodaFone.
•forgery at McDonald’s, North Broad Street, where
a female attempted to pass a counterfeit $20 bill.
•terroristic threats and acts at a Woodlawn Avenue
residence, where a 37-year-old man reported, while at
his residence, he had been threatened by another man.
•theft by shoplifting at Dollar General on West Ath
ens Street, where a man reportedly stole deodorant
and other hygiene products.
•affray (fighting) and criminal trespass at a Wil
liamsburg Way residence, where a domestic dispute
was reported.
