Winder Police Department Incidents
Disorderly conduct, fraud among incidents reported to Winder PD
The following recent
incidents were reported to
the Winder Police Depart
ment:
•outstanding arrest war
rant at an East May Street
traffic stop, where the driv
er of a 2001 Cadillac was
stopped for only having
one functioning headlight.
•criminal trespass at a
Marion Lay Street res
idence, where a man
reported someone moved
his locked 1996 Chevrolet
Tahoe about three vehicle
lengths forward.
•disorderly conduct at
Circle K on West May
Street, where a woman
reported being assaulted
by another female.
•fraud at McDonald’s on
North Broad Street, where
the store manager reported
someone tried to pay for
food with a fake $10 bill.
•loitering and prowling
at an East 5th Avenue res
idence, where suspicious
activity was reported. A
woman advised she heard
someone outside pulling
on the window air con
ditioning unit and she
believed they were trying
to break into the house.
•theft by taking at Ingles
on North Broad Street,
where an employee report
ed the theft of the license
plate off her 1997 Ford
Ranger truck. She stated
the license plate was on
the truck when she arrived
at work, but a co-worker
notice the license plate was
missing later.
•theft by taking at Hardi-
gree Winder Public Hous
ing on Marion Lay Street
at Stovall Street, where a
woman reported her mail
box had been tampered
with by a young juvenile
boy in the neighborhood.
•theft by taking at Crick
et Wireless, East May
Street, where the gener
al manager reported an
employee was taking cash
from customers and “pock
eting the money.’’
•outstanding arrest war
rant at Barrow County
Probation Office on Lee
Street.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at a North Broad
Street location.
•assist Barrow County
Animal Control at a West
Candler Street residence,
where two dogs were being
removed from the resi
dence, one from the back
yard and one from inside
the locked residence, due
to several complaints that
no one is at the residence.
•driving while driv
er’s license is suspended
or revoked on West May
Street, where the driver
of a 2005 Cadillac Esca
lade was stopped when he
entered the center turn lane
to go around traffic.
•striking an unattended
vehicle on Embassy Walk,
where a woman reportedly
struck her neighbor’s vehi
cle as she was backing out
of the driveway.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of alcohol and
improper lane change/fail
ure to maintain lane on
Park Avenue, where the
driver of a 2002 Toyota
Camry was stopped for
driving without headlights
and driving on the wrong
side of the road.
•forgery and possession
of a Schedule I controlled
substance at Turtle Creek
Wine and Spirits, Exchange
Boulevard, Bethlehem.
The complainant stated an
older male and a female
attempted to purchase sev
eral items using a counter
feit $100 bill.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked at Circle K, West
May Street, where a traffic
stop was initiated on the
driver of a 2014 Toyota
Avalon.
•forgery at Phillips 66 on
North Broad Street, where
a man reportedly attempt
ed to pass a counterfeit
$10 bill.
•willful obstruction
of law enforcement offi
cers, giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer
and outstanding arrest war
rant on South Broad Street,
where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of
a 2001 Toyota Corolla with
a nonoperational taillight.
•cruelty to children,
criminal trespass and sim
ple battery - Family Vio
lence Act (FVA) at a West
Midland Avenue residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported between a
mother and daughter.
•lost/found property at
Quality Foods on North
Broad Street, where a man
reported a lost wallet.
•theft by taking at
Title Max on West May
Street, where the manag
er reported he suspected
an employee of stealing
$ 1,000 in cash from one of
two transactions she made
with customers the day
before.
•driving while unli
censed on Shields Street,
where a burglary in prog
ress was reported at a
home under construction.
•restraint of dogs at the
Winder Village Mobile
Home Park on Mobile
Drive, where a dog had
reportedly bitten a cat.
•battery - FVA and cru
elty to children at a Regan
Drive residence, where
a domestic dispute was
reported between and a
mother and her son.
•theft by shoplifting and
outstanding arrest warrant
at Bealls Outlet, Monroe
Highway, where a female
had reportedly shoplifted
by removing clearance
price tags from clearance
items and placing the
price tag on regular priced
items, which were not on
clearance, and then paying
a cheaper amount for regu
lar priced items.
•theft by taking at Ver
izon Wireless, East May
Street, where a man report
ed the theft of a bicycle
he had parked against the
front of the building.
•outstanding arrest
warrant at a Parks Mills
Road, Auburn, traffic stop
conducted by the Auburn
Police Department.
•outstanding arrest war
rant, giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer,
violation of a limited driv
ing permit and tag light
requirement violation at
Kangaroo on East May
Street, where a traffic
stop was conducted on the
driver of a 1988 Chevro
let S-10 truck that had a
cracked windshield, miss
ing tag light, side mirror
and rearview mirror.
•forgery at McDonald’s
on North Broad Street,
where a woman was
attempting to pay for her
order with a counterfeit
$10 bill.
•outstanding warrant
hold for Clayton County
on Loganville Highway,
where the driver of a 2006
Toyota Avalon was stopped
for having a taillight out. It
was determined the pas
senger in the car had an
outstanding warrant.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at McDonald’s, North
Broad Street.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle
with the intent to commit
a theft or other felony at
a North Williamson Street
residence, where a woman
reported a $2,500-$2,600
bank deposit from Dollar
General was taken from
her vehicle several days
prior to her reporting the
incident. The woman said
she had since taken other
deposits from Dollar Gen
eral to try and make up for
the one that was stolen out
of her 1998 Ford Taurus.

May Street, where a traf
fic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 2003 Buick
Lesabre.
•forgery at Kangaroo on
East May Street, where a
man had requested change
for a “fake” $10 bill.
•terroristic threats and
acts reported to the Winder
Police Department on East
Midland Avenue, where
a man, who does minis
try work online through
Faecebook, reported he
received a friend request
on Facebook from an
unknown male saying
he needed to talk to him.
The complainant said as
soon as he accepted the
request he started receiv
ing instant messages
from the unknown male’s
Facebook account stat
ing “that a person close
to the complainant had

woman reported the theft
of a 2001 Ford Expedi

where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of
a 2005 Volvo.

East Athens Street, where
a woman reported damage
to the driver’s side door
lock on her 2007 Ford
Expedition parked at this
location.

where a woman reported
the theft of 40 Hydroco-
done pills.

at Metro PCS on West
May Street, where a sus
picious person and vehicle
were reported. Dispatch
advised that a young male
was attempting to sell ille
gal drugs from an Isuzu
Rodeo. The male, upon
seeing police officers,
attempted to flee, but was
found hiding in a drain
pipe.

Department on Midland
Avenue, where the driv
er of one patrol vehicle
backed into a second patrol
vehicle.

ingly driving a motor
vehicle on a suspended,
cancelled or revoked regis

Pawn on East May Street,
where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of a
2005 Lexus SUV.
•noise complaint at an
Apperson Drive residence,
where a woman reported
her neighbors were play
ing loud music and stomp
ing around on the floor
- her ceiling.
•battery - FVA and crim
inal trespass at a Pinkston
Court residence, where
a domestic dispute was
reported between a man
and his son.
•forgery at Phillips 66 on
North Broad Street, where
a man reportedly passed a
counterfeit $20 bill.
•DUI - alcohol, reckless
driving, speeding and driv
ing permit holder driving
without Class C or higher
licensed driver age 21 or
older in vehicle at Barrow
Regional Medial Center on
North Broad Street, where
a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 1992
Harley-Davidson motor
cycle who was stopped
for traveling 68 mph in a
45-mph speed zone.
•battery - FVA at a
Lumpkin Street residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported between a
woman and her female
cousin.
•suspicious activity at
a 2nd Street residence,
where a woman reported a
damaged Halloween door
decoration and a nail in
her tire.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at a Corinth Church
Road location, where a
traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a 2008
Pontiac G6 that didn’t have
any rear running lights.
•suspicious phone calls at
a Mallard Drive residence,
where a female reported
receiving five phone calls
within a 25-minute time
frame from phone num
bers she didn’t recognize.
•disorderly conduct
at McDonald’s on North
Broad Street, where a dis
turbance was reported.
Two employees advised a
customer came in, made
an order, left and then
came back in complain
ing about cold fries. The
two employees stated as
they worked to replace the
fries the female customer
became irate, started curs
ing and threatened to catch
one of the complainants
when she was off to beat
her up.
•theft by taking at Rust
ed Arrow Design on West
Candler Street, where an
employee reported the
theft of a 1940s white
enamel cast iron front load
oven on legs.
•forgery at McDonald’s
on North Broad Street,
where a woman reported
a customer paid for her
order with four counterfeit
$10 bills.
