Auburn Police Department Arrests
Auburn police make arrests
The Auburn Police Depart
ment recently responded to
Mount Moriah Road at High
way 8, in reference to a dam
age to property report.
The train crossing arm was
reportedly damaged by a flat
bed truck. According to a wit
ness the crossing arm came
down on the bed of the truck
and the driver didn’t stop and
the rail arm was dislocated
from the base.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other recent incidents
reported to APD included:
•warrant arrest at a Brown’s
Bridge Road location, where
a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a Ford F-150
truck.
•warrant arrest at an Atlanta
Highway location.
•obstruction of law enforce
ment officers and warrant
arrests at a Kilcrease Road
location, where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driver
of a 1997 Ford Explorer.
•damage to property at
McDonald’s on Atlanta High
way, where the driver of a
1993 Chevrolet Silverado
pulling a trailer reportedly
struck the base of the metal
awning in the drive-through
with the trailer he was pull
ing.
ACCIDENTS
Auburn police also
responded to two recent acci
dents. including:
•a two-vehicle accident on
6th Street, where the driver
of a 1994 Chevrolet Astro
Van reportedly rear-ended
the driver of a 2005 Toyota
4Runner.
•a one-vehicle accident on
Highway 8, where the driver
of a 2012 Chevrolet Silver
ado reported a deer ran into
the driver’s side door of his
vehicle.

a person, driving without
a valid driver’s license,
fraudulent driver’s license
or identification card; false
statements in application,
giving a false name, address
or birthdate to a law enforce
ment officer, expired license
plate and forgery at an Elm
Street location, where a traf
fic stop was conducted on
the driver of a Kia Sedona.
•harassing phone calls
reported to the Wind
er Police Department on
South Broad Street, where
a woman reported receiv
ing text messages from her
ex-husband that contained
vulgar and demeaning
words towards her.
•aggravated assault and
battery at an East New Street
location, where a woman
reported a dark skinned
man. driving a white van,
had attempted to hit her
with his vehicle. She said
she and her mother were
walking east bound on East
New Street and the man was
driving his car west bound
on East New Street, when
he suddenly cut in front of
their walking path, attempt
ing to strike them with his
vehicle. The complainant
said the man told them her
mother owed him $5. Both
women stated they did not
owe the man any money.
The complainant said the
man exited the van and stat
ed he was going to hit her
(complainant) on the head.

ple battery at a Capitol Ave
nue location. A man stated
two black males in a black
Honda hit him and bran
dished a 9 MM handgun.
•harassment at Hardigree
Terrace on Marion Lay
Street, where a man report
ed being harassed by two
juveniles in the neighbor
hood.
•criminal trespass at a
Sutherland Drive residence,
where a man reported his
mailbox had been damaged
by someone running over it.
•harassing phone calls at
a Wisteria Drive residence,
where a woman reported
receiving text messages
from another female that
she had asked not to text her
anymore.
•damage to property at
the Barrow County Deten
tion Center on Barrow Park
Drive. A woman reported
the gates for the employee
entrance closed on her 2008
Jeep Compass causing dam
age to the driver’s side of
her vehicle.
•terroristic threats at a
Mobile Drive residence,
where a woman reported
receiving threats by phone
from a male after she found
another home for his three
dogs that he had left in her
care for three months, with
out any payment. She said
the male was in Las Vegas
and didn’t have a way to
return home, so she contact
ed the local animal shelter,
but was told there wasn’t
any room there for the dogs.
She said she was told the
dogs were now hers and she
could do what she wanted
with them.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, no insur
ance, knowingly driving a
motor vehicle on a suspend
ed, cancelled or revoked
registration and expired
license plate on East Athens
Street, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driver
of a 2008 Ford F-150 truck.
•theft by shoplifting at the
Exxon Gas Station on North
Broad Street, where the
store clerk reported a man
stuffed a case of candy bars
down his pants and walked
out of the store. She said a
customer who saw him steal
the candy confronted the
man as he walked out and
the man threw the candy
into the grass and ran away.
•no insurance on North
Broad Street, where a traffic
stop was conducted on the
driver of a 2014 Chevrolet
Silverado truck.
