Braselton Police Department Arrests
Woman spits on officer after arrest
A woman spit on a
Braselton Police Department
officer last week after he
arrested her.
Fannie Mae Lonie was
arrested for battery-Domes-
tic Violence Act after report
edly injuring a man during
an argument over religion.
Officers with the BPD
were called to the Franklin
Street location on reports of
a dispute. The caller (who
was reportedly extremely
intoxicated) said his girl
friend was throwing things.
When they approached the
residence, officers saw two
people arguing and a man
ran away from the scene.
Lonie insisted they were
just talking and didn’t need
the police. But the man who
had previously ran away
returned, and officers saw
he had a busted lip and was
bleeding from the neck. He
also told officers they were
just talking and didn’t need
the police.
A witness said his daugh
ter had called from the res
idence “frantic and needed
him to come get her.” When
he got there, he said every
one was intoxicated.
The man whose lip and
neck were injured told
officers the damage had
occurred a long time ago and
the bite mark on his neck
was from “playing around.”
“I told (him) that he was
missing chunks of skin and
it was bleeding and that was
not playing around,” said the
officer. “(The man) said that
he didn’t want anyone to
go to jail and they had a
disagreement about religion
and they were talking about
it.
Lonie agreed they were
“just talking about religion”
and refused to cooperate and
answer the officer’s ques
tions.
Officers then spoke with
the complainant, who said
Lonie and the injured man
had moved from Mississippi
to his home and they were
talking on the back porch.
The conversation got heat
ed and Lonie reportedly
got mad. The injured man
reportedly tried to calm
down Lonie and the com
plainant thought calling the
police would help.
A juvenile witness told
officers the couple had been
talking when Lonie got mad
at another female. The man
tried to calm him down and
she reportedly slapped him
multiple times in the face.
Lonie then reportedly bit his
neck.
The injured man said
everyone had been drinking
and Lonie didn’t mean to
hurt him.
Officers arrested Lonie
and she became aggressive
and started to resist. After
she was handcuffed and
placed in the vehicle, she
spit in the officer’s face and
on his arm and leg.
SUSPECTED DUI
DRIVER DENIES
DRIVING
A man suspected of driv
ing under the influence
refused to take a sobriety
test because he “wasn’t
driving.”
Christopher S.
McJunkin was arrested for
DUI following the inci
dent.
Officers with the
Gwinnett County Sheriffs
Department went to a
Dollar General where
a man was reportedly
harassing his son. The son
pointed at a blue Acura
and reportedly told his
father that was the man
harassing him.
The deputy followed the
vehicle, which reportedly
ran a stop sign. Officers
initiated a traffic stop
and the man pulled into
a driveway and into the
garage.
The deputy said the
diver got out of the vehi
cle with “great difficul
ty.” stumbling and holding
onto the vehicle for bal
ance. He was reportedly
uncooperative and tried to
go inside the residence.
The deputy detained him
since he did didn’t know
what was in the house.
Officers with the BPD
arrived at the scene and
smelled the strong odor
of alcohol and saw
McJunkin’s eyes were
bloodshot and watery, his
speech was slurred and he
was unsteady on his feet.
He told officers he’d
been drinking “all day
long” but said he didn’t
drive. But officers say he
had a Dollar General bag
containing a receipt for
items purchased 20 min
utes prior.
When asked if he would
take a field sobriety test,
McJunkin said, “For
what?! I wasn’t driving!”
He was placed under
arrest and when read
implied consent for DUI.
he reportedly said, “No.
I’m not going that s**t.”
