ing its annual Superin

tion at 6 p.m. on Mon
day, Nov. 14, at the
new Russell Middle
School.
Warehouse public
hearing is Thursday
A public hearing on a
controversial warehouse
annexation will be held on
Thursday. The Braselton
Town Council will discuss
the request at its Nov. 10
work session with possi
ble action at its Nov. 14
meeting.
CHI Acquisitions LLC
is requesting annexation
of approximately 30 acres
on Hwy. 124 near Davis
Street. The group plans to
construct a 483,000 square
foot speculative building
and already has the appro
priate zoning in Jackson
County to do so.
Several neighboring res
idents have voiced con
cerns over the annexation
and reportedly plan to
attend the public hearing
on Thursday. Among the
concerns are traffic and
environmental impacts,
lower property values and
bringing more low-income
jobs into the community.
Christmas dance to
benefit Pup & Cat Co.
Pup & Cat Co. and Char
lotte’s School of Dance
will present their 2nd
annual Christmas Dance
Spectacular at 3 p.m. on
Sunday, Dec. 11.
The event will be held at
the Winder Cultural Arts
Center located at 105 East
Athens Street in down
town Winder.
All proceeds will go to
the Pup & Cat Co., a Wind
er no-kill animal shelter.
Ticket prices are $10 for
adults and $5 for children
under the age of 12.

Share ‘Cookies with
Santa’ on Nov. 19
Cookies with Santa will
be held Saturday, Nov. 19,
at 3 p.m.
Tickets are on sale at
the Braselton Town Hall.
There are only 30 avail
able tickets.
Attendees will be able
to do crafts, have cookies
and milk, visit with Santa
and have their faces paint
ed. A photographer will be
on site to take photos.

Rotary Club
plans first
‘Racing
Elves’ event
Rotary Club of Braselton
plans its first annual “Racing
Elves” 5K and one-mile fun
run on Saturday, Nov. 19, at
8 a.m.
The event will be held at
the Braselton Town Green
(9924 Davis Street, Bra
selton) and will benefit the
Boys & Girls Club of Jack-
son County, area school and
Rotary partner charities.
The entry fee is $25 for
those who register by Nov. 1.
Only those who pre-register
will receive a race shirt.
After Nov. 1, the entry fee
is $30.
Several awards will be
given, including:
•school team challenge
(top three schools with the
most participants) — first
place, $750; second place,
$500; and third place, $250.
•individual awards — top
male and female overall; and
first, second and third place
male and female in various
age groups.
•elf costume awards —
best male elf; best female elf;
and best family of elves. This
will be judged at the end of
the race.
