Barrow County Sheriff’s Office incident reports
Batteries stolen from Comcast power supply boxes
The Barrow County Sher
iffs Office recently respond
ed to several reports of bat
teries being stolen out of
power supply boxes around
the county that belong to
Comcast.
Batteries were stolen out
of boxes on Harmony Grove
Church, Flanigan Mill and
Brown Bridge roads in
Auburn, Roxey Maxey Road
at Tom Miller Road and Bill
Rudedge Road at Matthews
School Road, Winder.
OTHER INCIDENTS
Other recent incidents
reported to the BCSO
included:
•criminal damage to
property at an Old Victron
School Road, Hoschton. res
idence. A man reported the
previous tenant did approx
imately $15,000 in damages
to his rental property.
•abandoned vehicle on
Anchors Way, Winder,
where a 2005 Nissan X-ter-
ra was located parked in the
roadway.
•knowingly driving a
motor vehicle on a suspend
ed, cancelled or revoked reg
istration and driving without
a valid driver’s license on
person on West May Street
at Center Street. Winder,
where a traffic stop was ini
tiated on the driver of a 1998
Ford Explorer.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony and crimi
nal trespass at a Ridgeside
Drive, Bethlehem, resi
dence.
A woman reported she
observed a male in her
yard near her 2003 Mer
cury Mountaineer. She said
she opened her door and the
male ran towards the cul-de-
sac and into the woods. She
said at that time she checked
her vehicles and they were
locked and didn't appear to
have been tampered with,
but she said several hours
later her neighbor sent her a
text telling her the rear driv
er’s side door on her vehicle
appeared to be open. She
said at this time she went
outside and discovered it
was partially open.

man reported receiving a
call from a Georgia Power
representative advising him
he needed to pay a $500
outstanding balance with a
Green Dot Money Pak pre
paid card.
•theft by taking at a Bush
Chapel Drive residence,
where a man reported his
Samsung Note 5 phone was
stolen from his daughter’s
vehicle.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony at a Natchez
Circle residence, where a
woman reported the theft of
a phone from her vehicle.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked on Carl-Cedar Hill
Road at B. Robinson Road,
Winder, where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driver
of a 2002 Pontiac Grand
Am.
•burglary and theft by
taking at a Brandon Drive,
Winder, residence, A woman
reported someone kicked in
the back door to her res
idence, breaking the glass
section of the door, and ran
sacked the home. She stated
a Sony PlayStation 4, valued
at $300, was stolen from her
adult son’s bedroom.
•theft by taking at a Sad
dle Ridge Drive, Bethlehem,
residence. A woman report
ed someone came on to her
property and stole her 1997
Honda Civic.
•hit and run; duty of the
driver to stop at or return to
the scene of an accident on
Lokey’s Ridge Road, Beth
lehem. A woman reported
the passenger side mirror on
her 2015 Dodge Durango
had been damaged.
•theft of lost/mislaid prop
erty at Walmart, Atlanta
Highway NW. Winder. A
woman reported leaving her
iPhone on the counter in the
automotive department and
when she went back for it
someone had taken it.
•terroristic threats and acts
at a Regency Drive. Beth
lehem, residence, where a
disturbance was reported
between neighbors. The
male complainant said he
had been having problems
with the noise from the dogs
at a neighboring residence
and he went over to speak
with the neighbor about the
noise. The complainant said
he and the male neighbor
got into a heated argument
and the neighbor said “if
you were 30 years younger
I would kick your a$$,” and
he threatened to kill him.
•driving under the influ
ence (DUI) of multiple
substances, driving while
unlicensed, improper lane
change/failure to maintain
lane and failure to obey
a traffic control device at
West Athens Street. Winder,
where a traffic stop was ini
tiated on the driver of a 2002
Honda Accord.
•serving a writ at a Creek
Stone Drive. Bethlehem,
residence. While a mov
ing crew was removing the
items from the residence
they located several durg-re-
lated items.
•willful obstruction of
law enforcement officers,
loitering and prowling and
outstanding arrest warrant at
a Natalie Drive. Bethlehem,
residence. Officers were
responding to the report of
a suspicious male wearing
motorcycle clothing, walk
ing around saying he was on
the run from the law.
•entering an automobile or
other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or
other felony, criminal dam
age to property and theft by
taking at The Home Depot.

lehem. A woman reported
while she was in The Home
Depot someone broke the
front, passenger side win
dow out of her 2014 Toyo
ta Tacoma truck and stole
$7,000 in cash out of the
center console.
•disorderly conduct on
Atlanta Highway NW at
Carl-Cedar Hill Road,
Auburn. A man said he was
driving on Atlanta High
way from Auburn towards
Winder and when he came
to the red light on Atlanta
Highway at Carl-Cedar Hill
Road a male got out of his
vehicle and ran up to the
complainant’s car window
and started banging on it and
yelling at him.
•criminal trespass and
simple battery on Univer
sity Parkway at Wall Road.
Statham, where a dispute
was reported between a
male and female. A third
party complainant stated she
came upon a vehicle and she
noticed a male jerk a female
out of the vehicle. The com
plainant said she told the
female not to get back in the
car and that she had called
the police. The complainant
stated the male left upon
hearing the police had been
called.
•criminal trespass and loi
tering and prowling at an
Etheridge Road, Auburn,
residence. The responding
officer reported when he
arrived at the residence the
male homeowner was hold
ing a gun on a male who was
found walking around his
family’s driveway and cars.
•hit and ran; duty of the
driver to stop at or return
to the scene of an acci
dent on Patrick Mill Road
SW, Winder, where a man
reported the driver of a 2007
Honda Civic came into his
lane of travel and struck the
passenger side of his 2010
Chevrolet Camaro.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where two
females reportedly swapped
price tags on items. The
items listed as stolen totaled
$172.
•domestic dispute at a
Mackinaw Drive, Bethle
hem, residence, between
a husband and wife. The
female complainant stated
her and her husband were in
a verbal dispute over toaster
strudels.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony, theft by tak
ing and criminal damage
to property at Mize Auto
Repair, Cedar Creek Road,
Winder. A man reported
when he arrived at work he
noticed his son’s car, which
was parked in front of the
business, had been broken
into.
•lost/found property at
a Greeson Road, Statham,
location. A man said he was
about 1,000 feet behind his
residence in the woods when
he noticed a pile of clothes
and upon further inspection
he noticed a black handgun
in the dirt beside the clothes.
•identity theft fraud when
using/possessing identify
ing information concerning
a person at Rita Corpora
tion, Business Center Drive,
Winder, where an employee
reported the theft of a cell
phone. The complainant said
he had been advised by his
email carrier that his email
was being used in Russia.
•theft by shoplifting at
Walmart, Winder, where a
female reportedly took $65
in merchandise without pay
ing for it.
•driving while driv
er’s license is suspended
or revoked, no insurance,
expired license plate and
theft by receiving stolen
property on University Park
way at Loganville Highway,
Bethlehem, where a 1998
Ford Expedition was found
stalled in the left turn lane.
•forgery at a Brown Bridge
Road. Auburn, residence. A
man reported a male he met
at a QT in Gwinnett County
to sell a stereo for $100 gave
him counterfeit money.
•criminal trespass at
Ridgeside Drive, Bethle
hem, residence. A woman
reported she heard some
one walking around her
residence and when she
went outside she saw a
tall, skinny, young looking
male wearing a gray hoodie
looking in her vehicle.
•domestic dispute at a
Bowman Mill Road SE,
Winder, residence, A woman
reported she shared a home
with her mother and a man
and the man was upset and
causing problems due to the
fact her and her mother were
planning to move on Nov.

A woman reported her two
vehicles had been entered
and gone through with items
left on the ground. She said
the only thing missing from
the vehicles was $8 in cash.
She said someone also broke
into her storage area beside
her garage.

ran; duty of the driver to stop
at or return to the scene of an
accident and following too
closely on Monroe Highway
at Punkin Junction Road,
Winder, where a two-vehicle
accident was reported.

Statham, where a woman
reported she felt former ten
ants intentionally damaged
her rental home at this loca
tion.

other motor vehicle with the
intent to commit a theft or

Road, Winder, residence,
where a man reported some
one entered his 2004 Ford
Expedition and took CDs
and head phones, all valued
at $40.

where a dispute was reported
between a man and woman.
•driving without a valid
driver’s license, failure
to comply with the Geor
