Winder Police Department Incidents
Drug offenses, damage to property reported to WPD
The Winder Police
Department recently
responded to the following
incidents:
•possession and use of
drug-related objects, pos
session of a firearm or
knife during the commis
sion of or attempt to com
mit certain felonies, use of
a firearm by a convicted
felon during the commis
sion of a crime, posses
sion of methamphetamine
with the intent to distrib
ute, possess/manufacture/
distribute/etc. a controlled
substance or marijua
na within 1,000 feet of a
school, driving without a
valid driver's license and
headlight requirements
violation on West Candler
Street, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driv
er of a 2004 Ford Ranger
truck traveling without its
headlights on around mid
night.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at the Winder Police
Department on West Mid
land Avenue, where a
man turned himself in to
authorities.
•damage to property on
Horton Street, where a
woman reported striking
a pothole with her 2005
Chevrolet Impala causing
a flat tire.
•cruelty to children and
simple battery - Family
Violence Act (FVA) at a
Wright Street residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported between a
woman and her husband.
•giving a false name,
address or birthdate to law
enforcement officers at a
West Williams Street loca
tion, where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driv
er of a 2003 Ford Ranger
with only one headlight
operational.
•possession of a Sched
ule IV controlled sub
stance and possession
and use of drug-related
objects at a West Athens
Street business, where an
unconscious male was
found inside a 2005 Dodge
Caravan parked at the gas
pumps.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at the Walton Coun
ty Jail, South Madison
Avenue, Monroe, where
a 30-year-old male was
picked up.
•hit and run; duty of the
driver to stop at or return to
the scene of an accident on
Lighthouse Way. where a
woman reported someone
damaged the driver's side
doors on her boyfriend’s
2014 Chevrolet Craze
while it was parked on the
street.
•criminal trespass at the
Winder Post Office on
North Broad Street, where
a woman reported some
one struck her 2016 Chev
rolet Spark while it was
parked in the parking lot at
this location.
•financial transaction
card fraud at a Corey
Court, Statham, residence,
where a woman reported
unauthorized transactions
on her bank debit card.
•outstanding arrest war
rant at a Wood Avenue res
idence, where a 30-year-
old male was picked up.
•duty to report striking
an unattended vehicle at
Longhorn Steakhouse
on Exchange Boulevard,
where a woman reported
someone struck the driv
er's side of her 2010 Infin-
iti G37 while it was parked
in the parking lot at this
location. The damage to
the Infiniti was suspect
ed of being made by the
driver of a 1999 Honda
CRV parked next to the
complainant.
•failure to obey a traffic
control device and driv
ing while driver’s license
is suspended or revoked
on North Jackson Street,
where a traffic stop was
initiated on the driver of a
2002 Honda Civic.
•theft by taking at Down
Town Car Wash on West
Athens Street, where a
man reported someone
stole approximately $200
from the change dispens
ers.
•theft by taking at Dol
lar Tree on North Broad
Street, where the manager
reported a man stole a pre
paid charge card.
•theft by taking at a
Ryan Road residence,
where a man reported the
theft of a mountain bike
from the front porch of the
residence.
•failure to appear and
probation violation at the
Shell Gas Station on East
Midland Avenue, where a
traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a 2001
Ford Taurus.
•driving while unli
censed, no insurance and
failure to obey a traffic
control device on North
Broad Street, where a traf
fic stop was initiated on
the driver of a 1989 Lin
coln Town Car.
•driving while driver’s
license is suspended or
revoked on Dreamland
Court, where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driv
er of a 2000 Mitsubishi
Eclipse.
•battery at a Graham
Street residence, where
a woman reported being
“jumped on” by a male
who had left the scene.
•taillights/lenses require
ment violation, improp
er lane change/failure to
maintain lane, fleeing/
attempting to elude law
enforcement officers and
reckless driving on May
nard Street, where a traffic
stop was conducted on the
driver of a 2004 Mitsubishi
Galant with no operational
taillights.
•giving a false name,
address or birthdate to a
law enforcement officer,
headlight requirements
violation. outstanding
arrest warrant and pos
session of marijuana on
North Center Street, where
a traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2013
Chevrolet Silverado truck
with only one operational
headlight.
•criminal damage to
property at an Alexander
Street residence, where
a neighbor dispute was
reported. A man reported
his neighbor had backed
into his fence, pushing
over an approximately
20-foot section.
•harassment at a Pinkney
Street residence, where a
woman reported another
female was posting things
on a website about the
complainant and the com
plainant’s husband.
•driving while unli
censed on Monroe High
way, where a traffic acci
dent was reported.
•probation violation at a
West Williams Street resi
dence, where a 48-year-old
was picked up.
•possession of marijuana
at a McElroy Street loca
tion. where a traffic stop
was initiated on the driv
er of a 1996 Oldsmobile
Cutlass.
•theft by receiving stolen
property at Akins Ford on
West May Street, where a
traffic stop was conducted
on the driver of a BMW.
•cruelty to children
and battery - FVA at a
Searchlight Drive resi
dence, where a female that
appeared to be injured was
found “lying in the road
way.” The female stated
her former husband threw
her to the ground because
he wanted her to get out of
the doorway of the vehicle
she was standing in.
•criminal trespass at
Winder-Barrow High
School on North 5th Ave
nue, where a school sys
tem employee reported
damage to an exterior door
on the building.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony and crimi
nal damage to property at a
Highpoint Drive residence,
where a man reported
someone had tried to steal
his 2001 Buick LeSabre.
•driving while driver's
license is suspended or
revoked and texting while
driving on North Broad
Street, where a traffic stop
was conducted on the driv
er of a 2007 Chevrolet
Tahoe.
•financial transaction
card fraud at a Jasmine
Drive residence, where a
woman reported numer
ous unauthorized transac
tions made on her bank
account totaling more than
$12,000.
•outstanding arrest war
rant, theft by receiving
stolen property and pos
session and use of drag-re
lated objects at Taco Bell
on East May Street, where
a woman reported find
ing her husband’s stolen
cell phone listed on a site
called “Let Go.” The com
plainant set up a meeting
at this location with the
female who was trying to
sell the stolen phone.
•theft by taking at Vision
Source/Winder Eye Care
on North Broad Street,
where the owner reported
four pair of sunglasses had
been taken and she later
saw them on the “Offer
Up” webpage.
•entering an automobile
or other motor vehicle with
the intent to commit a theft
or other felony at a Mar
ion Lay Street residence,
where a woman reported
someone entered her 2006
Chevrolet Cobalt and stole
several items.
•battery, criminal tres
pass and theft by taking at
River Hawk Boats on East
Athens Street, where a man
reported two co-workers
“jumped on him and beat
him” until one of the men’s
girlfriend pulled them off
him.
•criminal trespass at
Fort Yargo State Park on
East Broad Street, where a
woman reported damage to
her 2016 Kia Sedona while
she was at the park.
•theft by taking at a Wil
liamson Street residence,
where a man reported the
theft of his 2003 GMC
Denali.
•simple battery - FVA,
false imprisonment, disor
derly conduct and willful
obstruction of law enforce
ment officers at a Windsor
Drive residence, where a
man reported a domestic
dispute between him and
his girlfriend.
•aggravated assault at
an Elm Street residence,
where a domestic dispute
was reported between a
female and her boyfriend.

rant at a Park Avenue resi
dence, where a 57-year-old
male was picked up.
•forgery and theft by
taking at a Village Court
residence, where a man
reported a $150 check had
been forged on his bank
account.
•found wallet at Smokin’
Po Boys on West Athens
Street.
•damage to proper
ty at Publix on Monroe
Highway, where a woman
reported damage to her
2008 Toyota Sienna van
while it was in the parking
lot at this location.
•criminal trespass at an
East New Street residence,
where a woman reported
someone had painted her
2010 Chevrolet Malibu
with blue and pink paint
and broke the driver’s side
taillight.
•no insurance on West
Candler Street, where a
traffic stop was initiated
on the driver of a 2009
Mitsubishi Eclipse.
•burglary at an East
Northcrest Drive resi
dence, where a man report
ed someone had entered
his detached garage by
forcing the door open.
•no insurance at Sonic
on South Center Street,
where a traffic stop was
conducted on the driver of
a 2013 Mercedes-Benz.

Auburn Police Department Incidents
Unlocked water meter found at Auburn residence
The Auburn Police
Department reports the
recent arrests of two peo
ple on outstanding war
rants.
The two men arrest
ed were Norman Wayne
Fischel, 51,2463 Braselton
Highway, Braselton, and
Robert Dwayne Wright-
Hall, 25, 275 Fields Road,
Jefferson.
INCIDENTS
Auburn police officers
also responded to the fol
lowing recent incidents:
•theft of water at a River
Glen Road residence,
where a lock had been
removed and the water
valve had been turned
on at a residence. The
meter had previously been
locked due to nonpayment
of water bills.
•outstanding warrant
arrest at the Barrow Coun
ty Jail, Barrow Park Drive,
Winder, where a 51-year-
old man was picked up.
•prisoner transport
from the Barrow County
Jail, where a 37-year-old
female was picked up.
•outstanding warrant
arrest at the Barrow Coun
ty Jail, where a 25-year-
old male was picked up.
•damage to property at
a River Glen Road resi
dence, where the driver of
a 2013 Ford Focus report
ed striking a deer while
traveling north on Brown
Bridge Road.
•damage to proper
ty at an Augustine Drive
residence, where a man
reported someone had
attempted to move his air
conditioning unit and in
the process broke the sid
ing and the rain cover over
the hole in wall of his resi
dence. He said the outside
water faucet had also been
turned on at a slow rate
and water was pooling in
his backyard.
•damage to property
at a Fieldview Drive res
idence, where a woman
reported damage to the
rear bumper on her vehi
cle.
•assist female Quail Val
ley Road resident while
she gathered her belong
ings from the residence.
•lost/mislaid property
at a Quail Run residence,
where a man reported he
either lost or mislaid his
father’s wallet.
•child custody dispute at
a Carter Road residence,
where a woman reported
her grandmother wouldn’t
let her leave with her
19-month-old son.
•animal complaint
at a Glen Terrace Road
residence, where a man
reported he saw his neigh
bor walking his dog by
way of driving his car up
and down the street.
•no insurance and no
valid driver’s license on
person at an Atlanta High
way traffic stop conducted
on the driver of a 2004
Toyota Camry.
