sand one hundred and ninety (lollarsi
and thirty seven cent was paid to‘
producers for bright leaf tobacco in
Ceorgia during the first week of the“
sale this season, the department of
agriculture announced today. '

six members of the department he
said that Engineer Neel had re

ATLANTA, Ga., August 4.—The
entire morning session Tuesday in
the house was oc¢ cu[t-le(i in a. fight
to restore the salaries of the director
of the bureau of markets and the
state oil inspectior to the general
appropriation bill and to put back
into the measure fifty thousand d-l
-lars that had been cut off from the
bureau of markets was the first item
to reach a vote and it was restored
to the appropriatiop bill.
The action of the committee of the
whole house in reducing the appro
priation for the maintenance of the
bureau from one hundred thousand
to fifty thousand dallars was, how
ever sustajned. ¢
REMAINS OF RAILWAY SPECIAL
AGENT LAID TO REST IN SUN
NYSIDE CEMETERY HERE
The funeral services over the re
maing of H. Frank Musselwhite, spe
cial agent for the Southern Railway
System, were held this afternoon at
four o'clock at the First Baptist
church here. Rev) T, H. Hborton,
resident of Bland Villa, conducted the
services. A large concourse of sor
rowing friends and relatives attend
ed the services. 'The remains were
laid to rest in Sunnyside cemetevy.
Ifis widow and seven children and
a large number of relatives are left
to mourn his death. They will have
the deepest sympathies of the people

Mr. Musselwhite was killed at his
post of duty when the fast non-ston
passenger train from Macon to At
lanta over the Southern crashed into
the rear of a wrecking train at ‘Dames
Ferry Sunday afternoon. Members
o this family were in Florida visit
ing at the time. Tie was a brother
of Mr. Warren Musselwhite and had
a large number of relatives in this
community, all pioneers.

They clearly heard the messgages
and within fifteen minutes the

While cleaning a small revolver at

Dartholomew, A, was accidentally
