BLOOMING CANADIAN PEAS
PRESENT PRETTY-SIGHT
i J. K. Luck, County Agent
‘' Have you seen the Canadian field
peas growing?
They look like English peas grow
ing and have blossoms like sweet
peas. These peas are new winter
cover crop for our soil. They fur
nish something green on the land
during the winter, help hold soil to
gether, preventing washing, gathers
nitrogen from the fair and stores it
up on roots in nodules, adds organic
matter to our soil, this being one of
our worse troubles here in producing
any ¢ropy the shortage of organic
matter, : |
% \
. Soil with plenty of organic matter
in it holds seven times as much water
as soil without organic matter. Soil
like this can feed crops with water
-over a long growing period thus en
abling us to get maximum rcsultsj
from our fertilizer and our soil, |
This winter legume will furnish
yeu a posture and a hay crop now.i
You all admit you need to grow
more hay and that this is the timc‘
of year you need it most. Here is a
crop that will help you grow more
corn or cotton per acre or will fur-]
nish you feed.
We have several good fields of
Harry Vetch, a crop similar to this
and has all the good qualitics that
the Canadian field pea has.
You should see these crops on the
following farms: Judge Whipple
home or in pecan grove on highway’
near Charlie Greer home. See H. M.
Goins peas and oats near town. See

A gland extract
may provide the way
The greatest helps in modern
medicine come through treating
glands. Many things are being
done which never were done before.
The greatest gland is the liver.
Ox gall is now used to make it
active. And to many people this
gland method may mean , new
health, new youth.
It Ends Poisons
_You think, perhaps, that.torpid
liver means merely' constipation.
It means far more.
The liver supplies bile—a quart
a day at normal. That bile checks
intestinal germs.
When the bile is scant, the germs
multiply by millions. They supply
the blood a constant stream of poi
sons,
Then come the results of impure
blood — sallow complexions,
pimples, dull eyes, falling hair.
But there are worse results.
Heart and kidney troubles often
result; high blood pressure, pre
mature old age. Hardly a person
who reads this could not be ben
cfited by an active liver.
Employ the New Way
Drugs cannot stimulate the liver.
The drugs you take for that arc
mere cathartics.
‘.. A torpid liver calls for ox %9".
You owe to yourself a test. Tha
results are prompt. They are
usually amazing. You may find in
this simple treatment just the help
you need. |
But get genuine ox gall. It comes
in tablets called Dioxol. Each con
tains ten drops of purified ox gall.
There you get the utmost results.
Remember the name — Dioxol.
Your druggist can supply you. Be
fore another day goes by, learn
what this new way does.
“Clip this advertisement. Take it
to our Special Agent, J. D. Ryals Drug
Co., and he will give you a liberal
sample of Dioxol free.”

Coney has vetch and Canadian peas.
W. B. Matthews has vetch and peas.
D. H. Wiley has some extra fine

these crops.
These plants are blooming now and
are certainly pretty. You should see
them for the beauty and also see a
crop that cost you $3.00 for seeding
purpose that will build your land up'
in one year so that you can make 30
bushels of corn per acre without fer
