I‘ CHICAGO, July 23—(#)—~The
Pullman Company will establish re
pair shops at Atlanta, Ga., probably
at.a cost in excess of $1,000,000
and Las already acquired a site there
it was disclosed today.
. The Pullman Company had pur
chased the 27-ucre plant of the lim
ited States Cac<i Iron Pipe and
Foundry Company, within the cor
porate limits of Atlanta, and will
erect buildings and revamp the
fice Pullman cars, officials of the
plaut to take care of repalring of
company said.
The plant will employ from 500 to
1,000 men to start and in all prob
ability will handle 500 rars a year.
No cars will be built in Atlanta,
but the plant 'vill handle condition
ing nnd repair work of that section
as has been done for other terri--
tories, the announcement said.
Representatives of the company
are in Atlanta in connection with
the ocquisition of the plant, which
has been occupit;d by the Scott En
gincering Works. The price for the
site was not disclosed. The company
