I Although the viciting team showed
unusually good form under Coach J.
J. Nixon, former C. H. S. teacher,
Coach Royston ‘s boys gave them poor
chance at the ball and kept them
from scoring. Both teams had a fine
line-up and, until the Jast quarter
neither scored.
When the whistle blew after tae
‘i third quarter our boys went in with
adetermination to win, and in the
last few minutes, Shingler made a
forward pass to Cox who ran severa!
yards and ‘crossed the line with a 2
touchdown. The crowd simply went
wild and broke through the lines to
cheer the boys. After this only a
little playing was done hefore tne
last whistle blew,

IS STAR OF ‘HIS PEOPLE
IDOL OF EUROPE IN STRAND
FILM.
A great rersonality heretofore un
known to the American screcn, ap
ypears on film at the Capitol Thea
tre., . :
It is Rudolph Schildkraut, noted
New York stage star, who makes his
bow to American pictures with one
of the screen’s greatest perform
ances in “His People,” the Universal
Jewel production now showing here,
As “Rabii Cominsky” in this in
tensely human picture, Schildkraut
must be credited with one of the
very few really great pérformances
of the sercen, His role)is that of 2
' Jewich rabbi—Kkind and forgiving,
but at the same time proud and re
lentless in the keeping of hig gdod
name and hig racial traits.
His struggle to uphold his native
traditions, the grief and heart-
Lreaks that his son brings to him,
his uneven fight to pro_vide a decent
living for his family, make up a
splendid st’ory in which is blended
pathos, tragedy and occasional
touches of comedy, ’
g Despite the dominance of the story
by Mr. Schildkraut’s remarkiable
! porform'ancc, the other :Y'nelmbers of
the large cast xfiané;j,rq tq make them
selves effective, ir'u-o'tper roles. 1.
