“POKER FACES” AT
CAPITOL IS A FULL
~ HOUSE OF SPASMS
LAUGHS BRZAK LOOSE AND
STAY LCOSE, :
For a real evening’s entertains
ment go to sec “Poker Faces” at the
Capitol Theatre and stay through
twice.
The first time you won't be able
to keep you eyes off the screen
yvou'll be so convulsed with laughter
but tiic second time try not to
watch the cereen and watch the ex
preszion on the faces of the people
sitting about ™u,
Watch the interest in their eyes
and the fn:mhicr on their lips and
you'li know why you though “Poke:
Faces” the cleverest picture you
have ever seen for months, ' i
Edward Everett Horton and Lau
ra l.a; Plante gain the major hunur:t‘
for the whole hearted induction of
laughter, Tacy play the very sm-mual
role of hveband and wife and hoih
get into their share of trouble . The
refleation of their comie troubles
and fix;i.r effeet on others in the cast
makes many a delightful momeant.
The reason for the immensze popu
lavity of thi picture is not hard ln‘
deterine, The troubles are just the
sort t'i;nl you or I might get into
They are natural and very plausibly
done by the direction of Harry Pol
lard to whom much credit must be
agiven for presenting a hilarious
eveniang's entertainment.
George Seigmann, usually AL -
ciated with villianous roles in ex
ceedingly clever in a lighter role
while Tom Ricketts does pood work,
Tom O’Brien and Dorotiy Revier
as a prizefighter and his actress
wife, add much to the complications
of the story and prove capable in
their roles. ven Leon Holmes, the
office boy waz good. The picture de
sprves to be a great succes. ‘
