TO LIFT OR TC LEAN
There are two kinds of people on
earth today,
Just two kinds of pecnie, no more,
I say,
Not the saint ane the sinned, for 'tis
well understood
The good are heif bad and bad are
half good:
Not the rich and the poor, for to
count man’s wealth
You m;ist first know the state of his
conscience &nd henlth;
'Not the humbie and proud, or in
life’s little span
Whot puts on vain 2ivs is not count
ed a man;
Not the happy and wad, for the
. swift-flying years
Bring each man Lis laughter and
each man his {cars
No! the two kind o* people on
earth that I laean
Are the people who lift znd the peo
ple who lean. ;
Wher'er you go you wili find the‘
world’s masses e
Are always diviled ir. just twn
classes; ‘
And, oddly enougit; you find, too, T
ween, : '
There is dnly one Ifiter to twenty
who lean. ‘
In which class me veu? Are yon
easing the Toad ‘
Of overtaxed litters who toil downl
the road? ‘
Or, are you a leaner, who lets oth
_ers bear !
Your portion o labor ang worry and |
care,
