HER BIG NIGHT” IS
* LAURA LA PLANTE’S
& BIST AND FUNNIESE
DSREAT FEATURE CAST IN
4. ELABORATE COMEDY-DRAMA
0 AT CAPI'I:OL THURSDAY. i
3 “Her Big Night” was all of that.
lQt is probably the biggest night in
finybody's career, and the picturiza-‘
fon of it, which will be on the}
"gcrun at the Capitol theatre. is one
“f the most diverting light comcdy‘
i«.\ roductions of the year.
% Laura La Plante wins fresh lau
; bels as the star of this picture. It is
ner first actual starring role, and she 1
‘Mamply Juetifies the judgment of thei
‘@dlniversal Picture Corporation in
; ving selected her for stardom. ;
Despite the rpresence in the cast
) t almost a dozen experienced and
' balented troupers, Miss La Plante is
Mnever in danger of being overshad
pwed, no matter how riotous the fun
‘#bf the picture hccomes. Her charm
;*3 ing personality, and her inherent
‘Weence of comedy makes her a star

“Her BT:nght" is plainly and
frankly farce comedy, noting else. 1t
starts with a very realistic, and
therefore very funny, bargain
counter rush in a department store,
contains frantic press agents trying
to find lost movie stars, inquisitive
reporters, trying to run down scan
dal stories about cinema celebrities,
jealous husbands and wives attempt
ing to find their respective mates
and safeguard them from sirens and
homewreckers, .
It moves, without a single dull
moment, to a climax which approach
es bedlam in its high comedy,
No better story could possibly
have been found with which to in
troduce Miss La Plante to the screen
as 2 stay, Her personality fits into it
perfectly.

ber 16—(#)—The suit and counter
suit for separation between Frances
(Peaches) Browning and Edward W.
Browning, wealthy middle-aged New
York real estate man, which was
originally set for December 4, at
Poughkeepsie, N. Y., will probably
not begin until the middle of Jan
uary,
A request of Mrs, Browning's coun
sel, Henry Epstein, for more time
to prepare his case, was granted
by Supreme Court Justice Mor
chauser today. :
The justice reserved decision on
Mrs. Browning's application for $4,-
000 a month alimony and $25,000
for counsel,
Mrs. Browning's attorney de
clared that Browning’s suit charging
her with cruelty and abandonment
would be answered by admitting
abandonment, but that she would
counter with the assertion that
-abandonment was justified.
