'WORTH TO REDUCE COTTON
- ACREAGE FOR NEXT YEAR
Bt g s
° SYLVESTER, Ga., December 9—
Regarding conditions in Worth coun
ty, H. J. Prance, county agent, is
‘quoted as follows: “Worth county
,zill probably make three fourths the
cotton the county made last year and
‘the farmers will protyibly realize
‘half as much money from the entire
crop as they did from the 1925 crop.
“This within itsself has catsed a
temporary depression and its influ
‘efice is being felt by all concern
d. Since there is a good erop of
‘corn, potatoes, hay, meat and other
food and feed crops and a fair crop
of peanuts from a reduced acreage,
the thing that is hurting more than
anything else is the poor outlook for
‘a good price for ' cotton another
year. For this reason farmers don’t
know how to pitch their crop for
next season
