The trip to the Dalles was made
without difficulty, through the aid

year in Macon county, but no crop
has - yielded returns per acre .that
surpads the returns from the pécan
erop. There are approximately 15,
000 pecan trees in the conty, 26,000
of which are bearing and it is esti
nated that 200,000 pounds of nuts
have been sold this year from 25 to
50 cents per . pounds, netting the
-growers around $76,000.
